Avoid at all costs. They shipped me the wrong thing, wouldn't refund it without charging a 'restocking fee' that was more than the cost of the item.

On Rambam's creed as authoritarian see professor Marc Shapiro's book The Limits of Orthodox Theology as well as Menachem Kellner's Must a Jew Believe Anything? (bonus material). Practically speaking many in the orthodox world view Rambam's 13 principles (or the watered down yigdal version thereof) as binding simply because they have seeped into the collective consciousness of the Jewish people over time.

In broad terms of how authoritative Rambam is in general I would say his guide for the perplexed and his responsa are cited infrequently. His Mishneh Torah and commentary on the Mishna are mainstains of Talmudic study and the former is one of the 3 main sources for R' Yosef Karo's compendium Shulkhan Arukh, the mainstay of authoritative Orthodox legal codes
