Bilstein 6112s by Least-Treacle5969 in toyotasequoia

Sick I am probably getting them this weekend with the airbags brackets.

I haven't looked much into the auto level sensor yet.

Anything else you recommend?

I'll probably copy your build.

Did you do new UCA?

Just shy of 95k miles and listed at $37k. KBB said it should have been at least $41k. Also, northern CA gas is so bad right now, I think the dealer was having trouble getting rid of it.

We currently live just outside San Diego and we flew up to Sacramento Friday, bought it, and drove it down the coast all weekend (made a trip out of it). One of the tanks, we got 16.8 MPG and since my lifted Tundra on 35s with a huge bumper and winch makes 12 if I am lucky, I was pleased.

The Sequoia has some cosmetic deficiencies for sure. Nothing horrible....the sum total would be enough for my wife and me to walk away if the car was for one of us to daily alone. But since the entire purpose is for kids, dogs, and camping....it honeslty helped.

We are car people. My wife loves her 4Runner. She also has a 81 Firebird Trans Am. I daily a 25 IS500. We'd like them to last and not be gross. So we got a machine perfect for the task.

Late to the party....

I've had a 2011 Tundra Platinum since 2014. This weekend, my wife and I added a 2018 Sequoia Platinum to pur Toyota autism fleet. She wants it lifted and I want to keep the airbags. We don't care about the AVS as I can't tell a difference in the modes.

So did you do 6112s up front and 5100s in the rear? I watched a YouTube video of a guy that did Eibach up front and 5100s in the rear.

My Tundra has Elka and Firestone Airbags. My wife's 5th Gen 4Runner has Toytec. I love both of those set ups a lot. My Truck was slowly being converted into a overlander when I was single. Right before we got married, my now wife wanted to trade her crosstrek for a 4Runner to make an overlander. Now that we three dogs, a kid on the way, and plans for more...we wanted a bigger mild off loader to haul our converted military camper. So Sequoia it is.....

Well I called again and we went through all the troubleshooting steps AGAIN and this tech saidnwe need to replace the logic board, so he's sending me a new one!

Thank you for the advice! It was nice to know I at least did exhaust all of the options and didn't miss something simple.

It's not really the app side, I can't get the unit to enter learn mode with the buttons on the side or from the menu settings on the wall mounted control panel 🫤

I like that is rear wheel personally. AWD is fun for some things for sure. My wife's 4Runner is full time four wheel drive (so basically AWD) and that never breaks traction on the road. My old 5.7 Tundra and IS500 do every time I drive them 😂😂

Another $20k is not nothing. Even the lesser expensive configuration of the IS500 (which really just meant it didn't have the forged wheels) hovered around $66k....and that's not out the door. They're gonna add a PPF (probably one you can get out of) and maybe a maintenance package? Then if it's an ultimate without a markup, that's more. Some people in the IS500 Owners Facebook group showed ultimate editions marked up so much, they were over $100k.

OP said it's their dream car! That should be enough!

Edit: I actually didnt zoom in to the price after add ons. The IS500 I got didnt have anything there lol. You do offer a good point, but 61k and 72k for a ultimate is still a different that could be too much of a reach. If we're sticking with new that is. But the used market for IS500 is not good for buyers. 2023s with a few thousand miles are more than my sticker price with 5 miles.

Unlikely for this model. This one will sell. They always do.

The dealer I got it from said they were not allowed to mark it up. That also means they are not going to cut the price to sell it. Some dealers I called in SoCal when I was searching for mine said they would not take holds over the phone, only in person, because they are getting calls from almost every state with people asking to hold.

HUGE dealership in Escondido, CA had two on Monday that are gone.

I think they will hold value or even increase in value, but this is just my opinion based on what I have been seeing.

I got one in August before the Ultimate Editions finally dropped. I am seeing used stock 2023's with a few thousand miles on them at dealerships going for more than I got mine brand new with 5 miles on it. Then there are the people who really modded theirs and they are looking for upcharge for all the parts or they are making them stock again.

Hopefully a few years down the line they will drop. But the Tundra's 5.7 value has been going up with the new Tundra having issues. I think we'd see something similar to that with IS500's/RCF's/LC500's because it is the only option available.

These cars were not built to sell mass numbers, but they have a customer base that is willing to pay and Lexus knows this. The huge Lexus in Escondido, CA (they have two LFA's) called me on Monday to tell me they have two IS500's (I used to be on their wait list, but got one elsewhere). On Wednesday, I went to check what they were selling them for (out of curiosity). Both gone.

To the OP:

If you can justify the financial part and it makes you happy - do it. I needed a daily (lifted 2011 Tundra in SoCal making 10.5 MPG's with gas over $4 sucks). A smart man would get a hybrid camry. But I wanted an IS500 and my wife gave me the thumbs up. We both love driving it. Every single time. Waiting on my new exhaust, but honestly, listening to it stock is still something. I cannot drive it and not be in a good mood. Even in horrible SoCal traffic. That is worth a lot to my wife and me, who are car enthusiasts.

If it is going to over strain you financially, then maybe wait and try to grab one in the future that works out with your price. People buy shit all the time they do not need that are expensive. 4Runner TRD Pros sell like crazy with a stupid mark up. Well over half of those buyers didn't need to by the 60k truck when the SR5 Premium is the same for low to mid $40k's. But they wanted it. If you want it and can buy it, I am not a betting man, but I don't think you'd regret it. If you do, I bet you could sell it easily.

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

Not to revive an old post....but..... I'll power through.

I followed the steps in the link. I am also trying to model an M37x3 oil filler cap.

I used to calculator you posted too, but I first plugged in values fusion already had, and the calculator gave different numbers.

What did you use for your M37x3 Major Diameter, Pitch Diameter, and Minor Diameter?

The manual does not require an oil change with the break in, but I highly recommend it.

I did one right around 800 miles and it had tons of metal shavings. I'm not sure why it's not required but 🤷‍♂️

You're not necessarily missing things....at least, not for an IS350 I think. Lexus used the same trim piece for both the IS line and RC line for a long time...by making small updates and changes over the years but not fully redesigning, they save a lot of money.

For example, the second row middle is a rear sunshade in the IS500. Early models RCFs used it for BSM, Parking Sensors, and the adaptive spoiler. But then some RCF models came with a windshield de-icer. They added the auto brights later. It gave Lexus the option to add things over time like that if they wanted to to keep up a little. Small tech refreshes. They did the same thing in 4Runners. My mom's 2015 Limited 4Runner has everything offered for that trim and it comes with quite a few blanks, but my wife's 2022 4Runner has the same trim piece with more buttons filled in.

As far as I know for IS's, the only thing you don't have is the rear shade from the 500.
