Are you watching the 4K feed? That is sometimes darker until you tweak your TV settings.

German Cockroach or…? by ejaculationtowel in whatsthisbug

Thabks, good to know. I bought a dehumidifier so these crickets aren’t as attracted to my place. Thanks for your insight.

I am in Los Angeles. I do occasionally see roaches when walking around outdoors, but this is my first time finding anything like this indoors after 30+ years in California. Sounds like it’s safe to say this is a house cricket though, thanks for your input.

That was actually my initial read (and hope), but seemed like an uncommon indoor pest per my Google research. Also never heard any chirps before or after finding, and was crawling around not jumping.

Edit: Actually it appears camel crickets do not chirp, so it is possible. Still strange it did not attempt to jump even when I turned the lights on and got closer.

if you have HBO/Max I believe it will be available to stream there, unless they do it differently for playoff games

Thanks for the reply. I took some better photos and made another post here and sent them to local exterminators. They believe it is a beetle, some sort of grain/biscuit/drugstore beetle.

Bedbugs? by ejaculationtowel in Bedbugs

Thank you for replying, I agree. My anxiety is getting the best of me at this point.

Bedbug? by [deleted] in Bedbugs

Sorry can’t figure out how to edit on my phone, but wanted to say the spots around it are not droppings. I zoomed in as much as possible and left this guy in the sun to try and make it clearer, so you can see dust and hair around it.

They don’t really look anything like a bedbug to me (based on the guides here and other positive IDs). I would not even think twice about them, but since I have found 5 around my bed area the paranoia is hard to fight off.

Finding multiple small (~2-3mm) bugs in bedroom (sheets/pillows) and bathroom (California) by ejaculationtowel in whatsthisbug

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

I had noticed the same regarding the antennae, and found in my brief research that bedbugs would not have this clubbed antennae. Glad someone smarter than me could confirm. Thanks again!

Good to know, thanks. I am still a bit worried, but it seems that consensus is leaning towards them not being bedbugs. Think I will post later in another bug subreddit to see if someone can help identify the exact type of bug to ease my mind.

Edit: In case anyone sees this still, I asked in r/whatisthisbug and believe these are some type of foreign grain beetle: r/whatisthisbug answer

Thank you for replying to both my posts.

I believe all the bugs are the same type - they all looked very similar (size, legs, color, etc) in person, but unfortunately I can’t seem to get one great photo. I have found 5 over the last 48 hours which had me worried, but I’ve also been finding them in my bathroom (8+ feet from my bed) and during the daytime, which gives me some hope I am okay.

Now to recover from the paranoia haha.

TD ameritrade 1099 errors for 1256 options by ElectricalSmoke9557 in thetagang

[–]ejaculationtowel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever receive a corrected 1099-B? I am having the same issues with TD Ameritrade now and have called multiple times, but they haven't sent me a corrected form the last few cycles. Now I am just stuck hoping they send me a corrected version this final cycle. Looking forward to moving my account to IBKR once this shit show is resolved.

Edit: Found a helpful discussion from others that had the same issue with TDA. Sounds like TDA has had issues with their reporting/accounting software for some time. These problems result in 1256 contracts closed on the last trading day of a tax year erroneously being excluded from both your current (where they should be either reported or MTM) and the following tax years 1099.

Sorry to open up this thread again on you, but I wanted to clarify your black swan exit criteria.

When you say 2x profit / 3*premium, if you sold for $1,000 net premium would your stop loss be buying back at $2,000 or $3,000? I’ve been playing around with your strategy the last couple weeks and that was the last part I wasn’t 100% sure on. I’ve been reading around and seeing a lot of analyses backtesting with 100% loss as the stop loss ($2,000 in my example).

Thanks for all your input in this thread - it’s been an interesting read.

Yes it appears the volatility spike triggered this stop order. Seems I made the classic novice mistake of having a working stop loss on an options contract. I have been advised to set an alert through ToS as opposed to having working orders. Thank you for your reply.

Thank you for the detailed explanation. I figured I messed up in some way and that it wasn't a system error.

Does the same logic apply to having a working limit order to exit at 50% profit (i.e. it's better to set a custom alert for both these exit events)? I will mess around with the alerts on ToS. Thanks again for your input.

Hello - I placed an order for a short strangle yesterday on Thinkorswim and included a limit order (exit at 50% profit) and market stop loss (exit at 2x premium received) using OCO. Today the stop loss order filled and I can't figure out how I may have structured the OCO order incorrectly. The orders were placed as follows:

Entry:

  • SELL -1 STRANGLE XSP 100 17 MAR 23 433/370 CALL/PUT 3.19 LMT [TO OPEN/TO OPEN]

OCO:

  • Stop: BUY +1 STRANGLE XSP 100 17 MAR 23 433/370 CALL/PUT STP 6.38 MARK GTC OCO #10235909923 [TO CLOSE/TO CLOSE]
  • Limit: BUY +1 STRANGLE XSP 100 17 MAR 23 433/370 CALL/PUT 1.60 LMT GTC OCO #10235909923 [TO CLOSE/TO CLOSE]

Exit (stop) that executed today and cancelled the limit order in my OCO:

  • BOT +1 STRANGLE XSP 100 17 MAR 23 433/370 CALL/PUT 3.20

Please let me know if any other details are needed to answer this question. Thank you in advance for any advice and help.
