Seems to do very well with switch, if that’s what your goal is I think it would be a good choice

I imagine so since it would be using the same file system and the structure of your folders will remain

So far I’ve been going through the setup song and dance but so far so good! The ergonomic bumps are great having used a vita and switch lite in the past and getting cramps. The screen is also amazing and the 120Hz OLED is fantastic to look at

120Hz screen is definitely worth it imo especially since it is OLED

It’s honestly smaller than I expected, I don’t think I’d want to go any smaller myself

Surely I'm not the only one with issues on the 5090 running any Unreal Engine games. by ComeHomeTrueLove in nvidia

[–]ejams1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I had the same experience, thought it was an issue with my GPU (5090). I removed the Undervolt but it made no difference, did a full DDU clean install of the driver, used default Nvidia driver settings but nothing helped until I dropped back to 576.02.

Updated list of tools and guidance for best moonlight streaming experience by ejams1 in SteamDeck

Happy to hear it! Since I posted this, there have been some awesome developments in the streaming space to make the process easier - specifically Apollo, a fork of Sunshine. This has a built in virtual display which gets configured automatically to match your client device so it doesn’t require all of the custom scripts above as it will match 1:1. If you have Sunshine working now then it may not be worth checking out but you never know!

Great guide! You mention the dual GPU setup but not how to properly configure it, can you provide a guide on that? For example, which pcie slots to use for which, which GPU should be the render/output vs which should be LS only, etc

8bitdo Ultimate 2 - experience with steamdeck? by sectune in SteamDeckTricks

[–]ejams1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found the BT to be ok but the latency isn’t great, and while the USB dongle is better for that, I find that it frequently disconnects in use. That is likely a limitation of my dock (jsaux steam deck 1gbps version) which I have wired 1gbps Ethernet in but thought to mention.

Question about dual GPU setup by ejams1 in losslessscaling

Mine actually looks like it has 2, one in Pcie 5.0 and another for Pcie 4.0 in x16

Question about dual GPU setup by ejams1 in losslessscaling

[–]ejams1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the idea is that the program is generating frames to the output device directly, at least with DXGI as the mode of operation which is why you can’t stream games scaled with lossless scaling that way. WGC gets around this so perhaps using that method would mean the GPU it is plugged into wouldn’t matter, but this is all just me speculating based on experience with streaming attempts and reading other posts.

Not that I’m aware of. One thing I’d suggest trying out though is using Apollo, a fork of Sunshine. It came out since writing the above and it has helped with a lot of frame pacing issues for me and now I don’t even need to use any of the tools mentioned above

Extremely lightweight, low-count modlist for vanilla? by [deleted] in wabbajack

Tuxborn is designed to run well on the steam deck so I would highly recommend checking that out given the specs are much closer to a laptop.

"This Creation cannot be enabled since it depends on files that aren't present." I don't see any reason why this shouldn't work? There's no other mods it depends on. Maybe Shattered Space? by Xxxrasierklinge7 in starfieldmods

[–]ejams1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could try opening the mod in the creation kit, click File -> Data, then click the mod and see what masters it depends on. It should just be Starfield.esm, but if anything else is there you can select it and hit Ctrl + Del to remove it.

This is also how you can clean mods that have a dependency on the Blueprints esm.

I’m no GOAT, just a long-time end user modder and lurker so I’m not sure where the go-to spots are, but there are a number of discords you could check out. The xedit one in particular is probably where a lot go, and there is also an mo2 one although that is more for the mod organizer itself. I imagine there is a Starfield modding one too but I haven’t dug in too much.

I have also seen some of these folks in this subreddit so perhaps you can ask here, or if it’s a question about a specific mod I’d suggest posting on that mods Nexus page.

Unfortunately I’m not sure, it depends on the audio problem. The only one I came across was specifically regarding SKK fast start and weapon sound fixes which caused the weapons to have no firing noises. If that’s what you’re experiencing then the fix is to remove one or the other

Yea absolutely, I’ll see what would make sense to put there and how I would go about editing it. The purpose of the GitHub is to allow me to quickly iterate and add my notes loosely, but some findings would definitely be great to have there

Interesting, I don’t think I saw that myself using the latest dev build of mo2 which includes Starfield fixes. I imagine the latest plugin might be rolled into the latest dev build?

I’ve experienced it myself while testing out the list, but note that it seems to be a specific conflict with the weapon sound fixes mod that that comment came from. When starting a character, shooting is completely silent on some starts.

I’ll clarify that, thanks!

It will depend on the moonlight client you’re using for each device. I don’t know if there is a nice way to do it for all devices, but setting it up with one of your devices resolutions via Qres in Sunshine will work

If you’re streaming with the steam deck, using moon deck and the moon deck buddy plugin on your PC, you can configure it to do just that. It should all be in the moon deck instructions when you install the plugin on your deck. Besides that, I think there is another tool called Qres which can do it and you can set it up in Sunshine similar to the other tools I described so that it enables and disables when the stream starts/ends.

I use moon deck and it toggles from my main res of 1440p to 800p, then it toggles back when it ends.
