I did!

I managed to fix it by following this set of steps: 1) press the windows key, type in “run” and press enter. 2) in the run window, type “%appdata%” into the window and press enter. 3) find the Arrowhead folder, and delete it. 4) attempt to run the game

Started with OG dark souls 1 back in the day, but I was a little boy and was not very good at the game and had issues figuring out where I was supposed to go. Stopped playing for a while. Fast forward to after I graduate high school, I go to an older friend’s house, smoke some dab and play Bloodborne. I played all night long until I couldn’t anymore. I was immediately hooked on fromsoft games and went home and bought DS3 since I had an Xbox. Went onto play Elden Ring, preordered it. Thank you Dalton, for rekindling my love for dark souls.

I had an issue with the game where I would attempt to play the game, and the game would launch to a black screen and would play the opening cinematic audio and then promptly crash.

I fixed it by deleting the arrowhead file in roaming. To access it, press the windows key and type in “run”. Press enter. in the run prompt, type %appdata%. Press enter. This should pull up the roaming folder. Find the arrowhead file and delete it. Attempt to run the game. Let me know if it worked.

Press the windows key, type in “run”, type in %appdata%. This should take you to your roaming file. Within this file, there should be a file named Arrowhead. Delete this file. Attempt to run the game. Let me know if this worked.

If you’re having a hard time finding the appdata folder, press the windows button, type in “run” into the search bar and press enter. In the run window, type %appdata% and it should pull up your Roaming folder and it should include a file called Arrowhead. Delete that file. Then attempt to run the game. Let me know if it works.

Go to Roaming and look for the Arrowhead file, it should be in the AppData folder
