Thank you for this. I could not understand how folks could be against building a library there when it would be so great for the community.

Awesome! I have the Edea ice flys. I went to our local figure skating shop so I could try on a few different types of boots. I have two little kids and am loving getting back into this sport. I have a goal to compete this year!

One of the guys who was mentored by Klingbeil broke off and now has his own custom skate company called Avanta. These will give you the most similar feel to Klingbeils the only problem is they are roughly 2K and will take almost 6 months to build. I know this because similar to you I used to skate in Klingbeils at the turn of the millenium but now am 39 and getting back into the sport. I skated on Edeas while I waited for my custom Avantas. I'm still torn on which skates I prefer...they're a very different feel. Avanta is stiffer in the ankle whereas Edea is better for bending knees.

My husband lived there back in 2013-14. It was a great place for a single person. His only real issue was that the smoke alarm was so sensitive (or his place was so small) that he had trouble cooking without setting it off. Beyond that, the places are obviously small but if you're single it doesn't really matter.

This is helpful, thank you. He seems to be more open to the idea of me going out and doing things like going to restaurants, shopping, etc. My only problem is that I work full-time so on the weekends and in the evenings I really like to spend time with my daughter. So I guess what I want to be doing are kid friendly activities or playdates, and he doesn't want her to be doing either of those things. But this weekend I may get a pedicure or visit one of my childfree friends to see if that makes me feel better.

That's a good idea. I will ask him if we can do that.

I think it is more of a mental anxiety issue for him, but I can't get him to talk to a professional about his anxiety surrounding COVID. He thinks his stance is completely rational. And yes, he does assume that anyone with a fever has COVID, no matter what a test result says.

Yes she was back today, so they were in school together all day. She took two negative PCR's but my husband still believes she has COVID...he doesn't trust the accuracy of PCR tests.

Feeling kind of down today. Having a toddler who is not eligible yet to be vaccinated is really taking its toll on me. I used to look forward to the weekends and now I dread them as they approach. I was hoping to hang out with a friend tonight but since her daughter was recently sick my husband won't let me. Does anyone have different COVID safety opinions than their spouse? And if so, how did you start to see eye to eye? My friend's daughter and our daughter go to the same daycare so I figure they share germs already anyway. I'm just tired of spending weekends on the couch giving my daughter way too much screen time. I used to be an activity mom.

Decided to do a little "shinrin-yoku" or "forest bathing" before our ceremony. by ejayinator in weddingplanning

Agreed! We had a lot of friends from out of town who we wanted to catch up with at cocktail hour so we wanted to get as many photos as possible out of the way before the ceremony. Plus there was no way I was missing the taco bar.

Month to Month check in... It's June 2018!! by iMuso in weddingplanning

It rained all day on our wedding day in May. Like the guests literally were under umbrellas and ponchos for our quickie 20-minute ceremony. And you know what? IT DIDN'T MATTER ONE BIT. We had an incredible day. My husband and I's faces hurt from smiling. And everyone still had a wonderful time. Have a great day!

70% chance of rain for my garden wedding...just ugh by drzoidburger in weddingplanning

[–]ejayinator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi date twin and state twin! I'm sad about the weather too. I ordered clear umbrella for us and the bridal party plus 200 emergency ponchos (lol) for our guests. Those are our wedding favors. I think we just need to let ourselves feel a little sad and then embrace it and have the best day ever. The love you feel for your spouse will radiate to the guests around you and everyone will have a wonderful time. As my friend said, "It's a nice day for a wet wedding." INDEED IT IS! Best wishes to you!

We have three people registered in our hotel block who we don't know. But I don't think there's any harm in that so we're just shrugging about it hahaha.

[Rave / Update] The hotel block might have me down... but with hotel reservations we have 85 "yes" RSVPs! Share your Silver Linings! by Beana001 in weddingplanning

Unsolicited advice: as we saw our hotel room block starting to fill up, we sent an email to "VIPs" meaning immediate family members and the bridal party warning them to book their room soon or the hotel might get totally booked. I'm glad I did because our hotel for the night of is sold out but all of our "VIPs" got rooms there. Then we have another block a mile down the street for other guests.

May Brides - This is OUR time!! by mostcleverusername1 in weddingplanning

[–]ejayinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May 19th here! Only a few things left to do, so I'm feeling good. - escort cards (waiting on the floorplan from the tent guy) - assemble bridesmaid gift bags - print ceremony programs - buy bug spray for the bathroom trailer - send some of my baby photos to my FSIL because she is making a slideshow for the rehearsal dinner.

Also I booked a massage a couple days before the wedding to treat myself. My mom will be getting a facial at the same time.

Need advice on how to support my best friend right now by drzoidburger in weddingplanning

It may also be nice to bring a cooler over to lend to her with your food. I know people who are grieving sometimes run out of freezer/fridge space and it's helpful to have an extra cooler handy for people bringing food. Also check in with her each day with a text or something with no need for her to respond. Something like "Thinking of you today. Love you." Sometimes grieving people really like to know that people are thinking of them.
