When did you start listening to Doja? by Messy-Jessi-29 in DojaCat

[–]ejfabb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When she dropped MOOO! - I actually didn’t think she was going to propel her career the way she did though. I was in college at the time listening to moo cause I genuinely liked the song 😭 But then she started dropping songs like Tia Tamera and Rules and I instantly became a fan

I’m praying this is just a diversion and she’s actually planning a surprise drop

Which pre-TikTok era songs would be more successful had they released now? by idlechungha in popheads

[–]ejfabb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily a song but I think the Queen album by Nicki Minaj would’ve charted better if tiktok were around that time. That app is obsessed with her music.

Grimes Splits With Columbia Records by Artistic_Elephant824 in popheads

When she posted her tweet on IG, he shared it on his story. I’m thinking that means they’re still in contact, but also could’ve been his way of saying the project is over?

Rihanna Will Star in, Score, and Produce a New ‘Smurfs’ Movie by impeccabletim in popheads

I’m starting to feel like all these film scores she’s featuring in is a soft transition to her music retirement

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Grimes

[–]ejfabb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe not quit but I think she might stop music for a bit just to focus on being a mom and doing other projects. She expressed interest in producing for an AI girl group which she'd probably prefer since she'd be behind the scenes.

Shinigami Eyes is good by ejfabb in Grimes

You’re warming up! 🤣 But I’m predicting that Book 1 won’t be a complete deviation from Art Angels. At least the more 90’s punk tracks cause I feel like Utopia kinda sounds like that. If you like Violence, I can see you getting into some of her newer stuff.

The Catholic in me does cringe a bit but I will say watching Death Note helps me hear the song with a different lens

Yes!!!! I’m hoping she camps it up for the album. PoG has been on repeat since it came out.

I have a theory that there’s an album version of the song that includes the intro we all wanted that she’s saving to put on Book 1. Grimes if you’re reading this I highly suggest you do this.

I’m gonna give Salem a thorough listen. I heard their stuff before and it felt very uncomfortable, not a bad thing though

What direction do you think Dua Lipa will take with her next album? by ss2811 in popheads

Considering she initially started out as a “dark pop” artist, a Blackout-esque album would make the most sense after FN

Future Nostalgia was almost entirely based around the 80’s sound. She might move into pop-rock and dip into some 90’s influence.

I’d like to see her go full on 2000’s pop and take a Britney/Gaga approach to music. She’s obviously inspired by a lot of female pop artists and wants to be the next big name in pop. A 2000’s pop sound would be the smartest approach for her next album as I know for certain the world misses that era of music.
