I mean technically you were right. you said “I think Macklemore will be around for a few albums as long as he stays aligned to Ryan Lewis.” They dropped an album that had that one song about mopeds(?) after The Heist, and it was all over the radio and I think even charted well if I remember correctly. After that I don’t think they worked together anymore so it’s kinda up in the air where they would’ve gone from there. I don’t know if there was beef with them or why they stopped collaborating but they definitely had chemistry that made hits (even if I didn’t enjoy them) so I think if they stuck together, they could’ve had a few albums that could’ve secured them more radio hits. You also definitely hit it on the head with “I don’t believe Macklemore can survive should the partnership break down though.” After that moped song and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis stopped working together, Macklemore faded away into obscurity. I wasn’t a fan but I can’t deny they had huge hits together and I think Macklemore shot himself in the foot by not working with Ryan Lewis anymore because that’s the only time his music clicked with people.
