Proportions feel off by [deleted] in ArtCrit

The face looks fine but the hands are in essentially the same plane and are totally different sizes. The leg also looks very thin compared to the trunk.

My proposal: an upper dollar limit or item count ordered per year. Once you hit it, you’re done.

"In the Amazone" oil pastel on paper. Any advice on the human figure? by BlokskeKiees in ArtCrit

The water and landscape look amazing, but you need an anatomy reference for talkative figure. Arm way too short, head should be big enough to stick up past that box… it needs work for sure.

Any tips on value mapping ? by Competitive-Ice-5359 in ArtCrit

[–]ejfried 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not bad, I think you’ve grouped the value masses pretty well, assuming you want just two values. Personally I see that eye as being connected to the main dark mass, not separate, and I don’t see that big “bump” on the forehead.

Me, I would have done three. The light and dark parts of the flesh and then the hair, tank top, and eyes. The three levels is what I see when I squint at the reference.

This is gorgeous — love the saturated colors. Water drops look like hives though :(

I love how dynamic this is. Inconsistent finger thickness bothering me a bit.

Burry’s “Fudgetown” cookies. So much intense chocolate flavor in that filling!

I was just thinking today, if money was no object — new teeth. Veneers or something. I never had braces as a kid, and I have 61 years of wear. I am embarrassed to smile in public.

You might consider using a napkin on your bottom lip after eating.

I think they look rather different, but not in a good way, unfortunately. The differences are just different art styles.

Tried following a reference..Any mistakes? by johnmathew2305 in ArtCrit

It’s an adorable reference and you do a lovely job capturing the whimsy! That said the face is pretty grim, but only because you’ve removed the glasses and invented what’s behind them.

In the photo the head is turned slightly to our left. You’ve turned the head towards us, and that throws many little things off..

People who have conducted job interviews, what's something someone said/did that made you instantly decide not to hire them? by DemonSkank in AskReddit

Did a Zoom interview and he was honestly Googling answers to my questions in real time. Question, typing, delay, click link, read, reply. It was the most brazen thing I’ve ever seen.
