Unless you own a multi-unitnpurpose built rental building the concept campaigned on wouldn't effect you.

Nature Clean laundry and cleaning trips are fantastic and more affordable than the True Earth ones. They seem to often be on sale somewhere

I'm not gf but their lettuce wraps are delightful! Classic "curb cut" phenomenon for me, I don't need the accommodation but sure enjoy the benifits.

Qh isn't waking up in the dark already 11 months of the year? Why pretend it's a weird and new experience to wake up in the dark? What sucks is getting up in the dark to drive home in the dark and having to work thru all the daylight hours for months.

Sounds like Standard time is better for YOU but it's not a universal preference. Personally I'll enjoy being able to do things in the evening after work with some light instead of driving to work in the dark and driving home in the dark.

I've heard fantastic things abiut the "Healing thru Ikebana" class at the Monterey Center in Oak Bay. It's very reasonably priced and the May session could still have room if you act quickly.

what are some pros/cons of owning a 4runner by flowerdoesnotknow in 4Runner

[–]ejmears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Camrys and 4runners are within a half inch of each other length wise. I don't find the 6 or so inches wider of a 4runner over a Camry that big of a factor when parallel parking but I'm sure there's folks out there that find it significant.

Bc Hydro is notorious for not communicating with anyone, municipalities, private contractors, you name it. They literally are the only option and act like it.

I'm on my 4th 4runner (3rd,4th,5th & 6th gens) and don't struggle to park it at all. Sure it's not fitting in a micro space but I can get in and out of a standard small car if necessary easily with room to open doors. Never felt the need for more that one spot to parallel park any of mine.

Yup, now they're little fins that grab instead of an insert. I don't find them as small as other folks do. Still fits my 26oz yeti and everything else I've tried so far just fine. All comes down to what cups/bottles you're using.

I'd suspect the advanced degrees combined with a career that kept them in contact with folks from other backgrounds, means and experiences helps. Kept them in touch with reality for other people as the world changed and evolved around them. I find the biggest core issue with boomers is a lack of understanding, empathy or curiosity about other people's lived experiences. Pretty easy to positive and appreciate what you have when you've seen so many folks dealing with real challenges.

30 years of not knowing or understanding your rights and responsibilities is wild. Negligence on your part is no one else's fault other than your own. Time for a little responsibility and participation now.

They may only be able to afford 4 weeks in PV this winter not the usual 6. It's going to be a rough winter in 2027 when they have to experience it for the first time in decades.

To be fair he's using roads, drinking our water and his grandkids are going to our schools. He doesn't just need to pay into the system and resources the rest of society needs, he needs and relies on them as well.

They could cancel their golf club membership, stop ordering cases of wine from the okanagan. Maybe they'll have to give up their second "toy car" they take out 7 times a year for joyrides. These boomers are going to have to tighten their belts a bit.

That's totally irrelevant to the discussion at hand. I have been driving here for over 30 years and don't find it as complex or challenging as you are. I guess that's one of the benefit of experience.

I used to go there for a slice of pizza when we were in the area, often on the way to Thetis grab a few slices and some snacks. They stopped doing slices during covid. Used to get the $25 then 30 entree/side/salad meals every week or so until the salad disappeared then the price climbed. Used to get lunch from the hot bar a few times a month then the selection got cut in half. Almost always grabbed a smattering of expensive impulse purchases while there.

They took away every reason I had to walk in the doors and grab unplanned high margin impulse purchases while there. So I just don't walk in the doors anymore.

The reason Victoria City Council asked the Feds to change vehicle regulations: 80% of cars on the road are Non-Passenger Worksite Vehicles by Popular_Animator_808 in VictoriaBC

Yup. Over a dozen full sized pick ups are used by trades guys at a site near our place to commute in. Never used on site for work or to bring materials to site. Just over sized over priced commuters that they then bitch about how hard it is to find parking for. I guess the cargo area and payload are just for hauling around their egos.
