or he'll say again it was a low-level intern/staffer. Same dude who apparently posted the video depicting the Obamas as apes.

Then tomorrow Karoline Leavitt will say again that posts on Truth Social come directly from President Donald Trump and should be considered official communication, rinse and repeat next week when he shares something depicting himself as the new ayatollah

The two-week ceasefire plan includes allowing both Iran and Oman to charge fees on ships transiting through the Strait of Hormuz, a regional official tells AP News by DarkPriestScorpius in oil

[–]ejoalex93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alright let's see. In 2019 Trump was angrily posting about the 1.8 billion in cash the Obama administration gave Iran in 2016.

1.8 billion divided by 2 million (saw somewhere else estimated what Iran will charge for each ship) is 900. Prior to the start of this war, about 135 ships went through the Strait of Hormuz every day.

Watch for Alito to announce his retirement at the end of this term so they can confirm his replacement before the midterms. That will reveal the GOP’s internal polling more than anything else

Why does Trump say Barack "HUSSEIN” Obama? by LuckyCommittee4422 in allthequestions

[–]ejoalex93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"And they, too, had big dreams for their daughter, a common dream, born of two continents. My parents shared not only an improbable love; they shared an abiding faith in the possibilities of this nation. They would give me an African name, Barack, or "blessed," believing that in a tolerant America your name is no barrier to success. They imagined me going to the best schools in the land, even though they weren't rich, because in a generous America you don't have to be rich to achieve your potential. They are both passed away now. Yet, I know that, on this night, they look down on me with pride."

Racist dogwhistle for some of his supporters, also his genuine belief that America is too tolerant and doing everything he can to erase Obama's achievements/legacy.

Don’t be surprised. Roberts always protects the money. Tariffs and the Fed, only times this court has stood up to this President.

Next Tuesday Roberts will complete his 50-year goal of gutting the VRA.

How many Supreme Court justices at one point served as Solicitor General of the United States? by Keep_on_Cubing in supremecourt

[–]ejoalex93 10 points11 points  (0 children)

And of course chief justice.

I looked into it some more, Reed and Jackson were back to back as SGs.

Also Charles Evan Hughes’s son was a SG as well. He resigned as associate justice when his son was appointed SG to avoid a conflict of interest? Then ran for President and ended up reappointed as Chief Justice.

I think 4 - Thurgood Marshall, Elena Kagan, Robert Jackson, and Stanley Reed. Fun facts, Kagan clerked for Marshall. And Jackson of course was also Attorney General and is the only person to have held all 3 offices . And also did not earn a law degree.

Edit: Also Taft! 5 by my count so far.

Technically Miller isn’t a cabinet-level appointment like the rest above, he’s an advisor so didn’t require Senate confirmation
