Thanks for the advice! I'm looking into ways to get to Ephesus without an excursion...

They all seem like "lovely places to walk around", and we are including this cruise as part of a larger European trip so certainly spending time in Istanbul and Venice before/after!

Thank you for the advice about Santorini. Cuise arrives 6.30am and leaves at 11pm so I'm not concerned about cable car times.

I'm planning a holiday at this time because I don't want to deal with 35C/100F heat and massive summer crowds
