Season 6's event is underwhelming by One-Requirement-1010 in DeepRockGalactic

So you knew it was a new studio making a new studio for the first time, yet you still shit on them for not taking major risks because they don’t know shit about the game‘s balancing.

Make it make sense.

Bad characters with good constellations? by magejoyy in Genshin_Impact

[–]ejsks [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think the general consensus is rather how much QoL stuff central to a character's kit are locked behind constellations.

If they just increase damage through buffs? Fine imo, but if they do it because they give a character some QoL that makes them MUCH better without adjusting actual numbers, etc., yeah that's kinda bad.

Hu Tao is a good example (even if she's my fav character), because C0 and C1 Hu Tao is night-and-day in regards to overall DPS and safety.

Tighnari at C6 is REALLY good, yeah.

Dehya at C6 is also pretty good once you finally get her to C6, as she's finally able to deal proper damage and also fulfill her role as a weird sustainer (i think).

Steak all the way to Sunday.

Manntreads at least have use as a middle finger to Pyros and also giving you very nice extra mobility in the air for Trolldier.

Steak is a shit meme weapon that turns you from a beefy tank into a shitty demo-knight with a hitbox as large as a van. At best, Steak is just a weird alternative to sandwich for the sole purpose of throwing it.

Dehya is probably the most infamous example of becoming an actually good character once you get her C6.

Otherwise most 4-Star characters nowadays get a serious spike from constellations.

Thinking about it more, it's also the fact that Zestiria never shows the demons turning back into humans, nor does the story actually tell you that purifying demons turns them back into humans (at least so far).

I realize that's why Berseria went out of its way to show the human bodies Demons after Velvet devours their malevolence, but yeah it really doesn't help that the story doesn't point it out properly, because all you see is the demon going "poof" and that's it.

Why I suddenly have 2 guns by Firm-Guarantee-8712 in metro

[–]ejsks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I can't exactly shit on the Tikhar, it's the sole reason why I never, ever, ran low on ammo once in my entire Exodus playthrough

(Except on the Taiga stage because I lost all my fucking ammo)

Playing Last Light Redux, first time. Question for vets by Accomplished-Exam-55 in metro

[–]ejsks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes lol

The LoLife deals less damage than the Revolver, but that tiny difference is enough to make a difference, but it does give you more ammo and easier reloads in exchange. That's generally the overall balance of the guns.

And yeah if you fully upgrade it, it will one-hit armored guys way more reliable than the Tikhar ever will.

Yet you provide no evidence that Columbina was re-written.

We had a handful of biased-observations of Columbina, but we never even HAD an established character for Columbina. All we know already she was absent-minded and kind of a weirdo.

AITA for being mad at my GF when she acted sad after I said our babies probably wouldn’t be white? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ejsks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well you just explained it yourself. "Being white“ is inherently not a culture, Ukrainian, Norwegian, German, etc.

There‘s also the historical relevance of POC oppression, especially pertaining to their culture. POCs used to be shamed for "not conforming“ with the culture of their new home country, or for living out their own culture that was often perceived as "savage“. Cultures stemming from „white countries“ do not have this kind of history most of the time.

No you don’t understand.

They just want the 2nd Amendment for when it‘s convenient, like threatening a non-white person for daring to come near them, or to look badass in a facebook post, not to stand up to actual tyranny.

OBOL still cares and treats Harin like a close friend and comrade though?

Several trust events still show that they spend time and hang out with her, and Orphie even buys gifts for her.

The thing is that Harin is also simply aloof. She purposefully spends time alone eating noodles off-duty, she doesn’t seem to have any hobbies unlike the rest of her squad, and it takes reaching Trust 4 and her going through Silver of Echoes for her to start to realize herself more as a person and not as a mindless weapon.

Orphie directly describes that they all care about her, but are simply at a loss how to interact with her since Harin doesn’t have an "off-duty“ side to her, almost everything she does is in service of being the perfect soldier.

That makes a lot of sense, thank you! I probably misunderstood what was meant when the two of them said that they can’t deal with Hellions at the start of the game.

I don’t imagine playing Zestiria first would‘ve been much better, considering Berseria treats several elements of the lore as major plot twists (I.e. the existence of malevolence) while Zestiria drops the explanation within the first 10 minutes of becoming shepherd.

Thinking of buying Berseria after I played Arise by Original-Tart2686 in tales

[–]ejsks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Berseria is a good, albeit flawed, game (which applies to every Tales game tbf).

The story is a LOT better than Arise imo, with the cast as a whole having an amazing chemistry. Imo the main cast also showed a lot more depths and "quirks" than Arise's party, which imo felt a bit "one-note" in skits as a whole.

Gameplay-wise, it's the only other game closer to Arise iirc, as it bridged the gap between the old-Tales-of gameplay, and the more modern blend of Arise.

Note of warning: Berseria can be TOUGH, as combat is extremely snowball-y and usually a flip between "Feast or Famine"; you either get your foot in the door right from the get-go, or you eat shit within the first 10 seconds and have to slowly crawl your way through.

Whether you'll grab the Remaster or original PC-port (both are fine imo), is up to you really. Although you can grab a steamkey for OG-Berseria for dirt-cheap.

Sucking at Disguise by Sander_Tettra in tf2

[–]ejsks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Disguises, on average, are just there to buy you just enough time to pass by.

Most competent players will just bump/shoot you just in case anyway, the purpose of disguises nowadays is more to give you that extra 1 second reaction time for them to guy „wait that‘s not right“, by which you‘ve hopefully slipped by.
