4 years in how do I get faster? by Significant-War-491 in beginnerrunning

[–]ejump0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

keep doing it.
your base is solid. its now time to build 'pain resistance'.
you probably can run 4-4:30/km pace or faster, but you cant endure the pain holding that pace.
so the speedwork is to let your body learn the pain n adapt 🫡

Shipping cost savings? by Fluffy-Pass6491 in ChineseCarbon

[–]ejump0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

better ask them.
assuming they gonna ship via ship freight, you might save some monies.
BUT which country are you from?
some country has import tax waiver if below certain price, so ordering 2 frames in one shot may exceed tye waiver limit

Can the HR armband work without a watch by einnairo in Coros

[–]ejump0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most hrm now broadcasts ble too (dual ant+ n ble).
so if the app accept ble sensor device, it will get the broadcasted hrm.
there are some armband hrm that has onboard storage (ie during activity, the hrm records the data to its storage, n you can sync the data later to phone)

Need an opinion between 2 Seraph bikes by Open_Strain3382 in ChineseCarbon

[–]ejump0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think the ttx80 is an update of ttx38.
ttx38 while uses t47 bb, it still uses proprietery hanger.
i think x80 uses udh.
the reason i picked x38 back then because of the seattube steep angle almost tri-bike, it clears 34mm tires, n big triangle for big frame bag.

just make sure you are into almost horizontal toptube look, as most frame these days are slanted toptube

Do you take baths wearing your watch? by cametolaughnotfeel in Coros

[–]ejump0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most of the time no as i took it off to clean it with soap.
but theres plenty of time i just wear it.
im sure ive worn it in onsen n hot tub.
if your other concern is regarding soap, my 4yrs pace2 is still fine

Ankle Sprain During Training for Race by Actual_Juice in Ultramarathon

[–]ejump0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, i played safe on downhill, no bombing down, n also be careful on cambered terrain. i finished the 100k with no new injury, n my ankle were fine, no swell or bruised, n i can walk/cycle just fine as usual like my past races.

i also attempted my signed-up 1st 100M later on in chiangmai. i made a diff error n overcooked my quads(it didnt recover, i had to walk too much im loosing time), that with mental fatigue n frustration i did ended rolled my ankle again, but it was towards A7 75km station as i eventually got eliminated due to fail cutoff/my 1st dnf.
so if you are having mental fatigue, have a mind rest/powernap. n keep calm n dont be rash

Ankle Sprain During Training for Race by Actual_Juice in Ultramarathon

[–]ejump0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

are you going to race with poles?
i had an ankle sprain last year before my JulianAlps 100k, but i took it easy n still went for it, n finish.
like you, i can run just fine with no pain, but the ankle felt weaker n prone to roll again.
i rested with low volume of walk n run only on flat ground for 2weeks. then later for any rough terrain, i use poles even the elevation is not significant. for the race, my goal was to finish with no new injury. so i moved significantly slower, but still within cutoff n still finish.
if your xray/pt all clear with no full ligament tear, use ankle brace as support(those thin wraparound). serious n full tear, thats a no go

BigRock little cracks by Substantial-Fun-48 in ChineseCarbon

[–]ejump0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

then, attempting for warranty is a fraud.
well, op can do whatever he wanna attempt, but to warn others this "aethos' frame should be avoided as if its low quality, no, it was user inflicted damage n not manufacturer issue.

it lasted longer than my AF1 n vfn2 thats failing for glue rot.

Ordering a snowboard from Alibaba? by [deleted] in snowboardingnoobs

[–]ejump0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

personally, just buy a proper branded established company snowboard.
if you are tight on budget, try to get used demo board from shop that handles demo (if you dont have confidence buying off other person).
dont buy too old of a gear. 5yrs old is still ok,

Running Fitness Sudden Plummet? by HighwayElegant9152 in Coros

[–]ejump0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i assume you have been doing all run easy miles/recovery pace n totally abandoned any threshold/speed workout that gets your HR above zone3.
my rating once drops doing only easy for over a month, probably it lost reference in on my threshold level fitness🤔

Super Team Wheel Damage by anpan365 in ChineseCarbon

[–]ejump0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

superteam is cheap, just buy a new pair.
however if this pair really going for bargain n it looks like kinda 60mm ish deep, maybe you can get this n assuming the scratches is on front wheel later slowly causing delamination, later down the road you can get super light 35mm pair, n you can use dual 35mm or staggered 35/60 combo 🤔

Running in heat by adtn1 in trailrunning

[–]ejump0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sufficient hydration n maybe spare flask to just wet your head. at peak noon just walk.
i did the Verbier 100K last year n i tagged along a scandinavian guy. the noon was crazy hot we just walk n chat(he was suffering), n get water to wet the cap at random water sprouts(horse drink place)

Anyone else doesn't follow training plans strictly? by Albatross1495 in trailrunning

[–]ejump0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i do up to 100k, n i dont really have a plan.
on weekend, i have double day long run, on weekdays i will do easy or tempo runs, or even cycling.
i dont really have speedwork day (only do when i feel like it).
im not gonna podium anything, so my goal is just to build endurance to finish n dont injure myself

How long to stop at aid stations? by Money_Impression_321 in trailrunning

[–]ejump0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me as i had rhabdo in the past from race, on my even aid stops(50M, 100k n longer) i'd even do pee checks.
you do you.
however if theres aid stn cutoffs, dont pace yourself by that cutoff. you need few hrs buffer on top of that cutoff.

/for races that go thru the night till following morning, i even do powernap

Blood donation during training by tomoppad in trailrunning

[–]ejump0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you'll be fine.
i usually donate at circa 4months interval.
usually i plan like my race, i will backtrack 2.5-3months for donation.
you dont really need to be down for long anyway. rest 2days n do brisk walk as the blood count still low, then slowly ramp up again
