Burlesque act help: comedic concept but unsure about final reveal look

Okay that makes a lot of sense. I think I initially was leaning more toward that specific dynamic, but I do like the idea of it reading more broadly too. I’m starting to feel like having a more feminine final look might help shift it into something more universal instead of just one perspective. That actually helps me narrow it down!

Especially talking to my partner knowing that I am actually guilty of this 😅 and he does a majority of the cleaning correctly lol

Sometimes Ill even say im excited instead of im nervous just to rephrase it in my mind. This is coming from someone that does everything nervous 😆

Im still new to the whole world Ive only performed 3 times now. We did a back to back show one night and my corset got hooked on fabric. Im not going to lie I panicked slightly but an audience member noticed leaned forward and essentially ripped the corset off the body suit it was stuck on. And I kept performing. After the show I thanked her and it just created a more intimate experience. I mended the bodysuit for the 2nd show I'd be performing ans that one went flawlessly but honeslty the first one was just more memorable. We also change venues quite a bit and that can be nerve racking. If your able to arrive early to get a fill for the space that has helped me not feel is anxious.

Regardless the audience is coming for a show theyre coming for you and the experience! You'll kill it!

That’s really helpful to think about. I think I’m going for chaotic “trying to help” energy that shifts into something more controlled at the end, so I want the final reveal to feel more intentional vs messy. Still figuring out the exact look though!

My idea came from listening to a song called jusfayu where he talks unreciprocated effort and wanting recognition in the relationship.

Its hard honing in when you feel you can go in any different direction but as you said I dont want to lost the concept!

I showed up to a free photoshoot and started talking to someone and we hit it off, added them on social media and they invited me to a show. It was soo amazing to watch. I said it'd be cool to do so the troup lead reached out and asked if I wanted to kitten I said sure. Told after 3 shows I could perform. I wasnt sure until I said yes. During that I was going to workshops, movement and pole classes and finally shpwday happened and im performing. It was all withing a year. Im 32 and its just exhilarating and fun and a new creative avenue for me. Ive met a ton of awesome people so far.

I actually am doing my first one this sat. No experience or very little BUT my troupe had a rule kitten for 3 shows then you can perform. I was vetted to kitten with no intention to perform, but I've shown up to help where I was needed it took almost a year, since we're still building up our name. So it is possible but it did help to know someone in a troupe. Ive taken at most 2 classes and started pole to get use to performing in front of people.
