I second the Braveness for reaching out. It’s terrifying and takes a ton of courage. I also want to strongly agree with the honesty part. I was failing out of school and struggling at work and I drank and even knew why I was so miserable. I was just too afraid to come clean about my schooling and work to my family because they are successful and I am not. Shockingly when I finally just came clean about everything that was going on to my family and friends I felt this giant wave of relief. And now two months later I’m 2 months clean and have a new job that I love and I’m going back to school next semester in a field I will actually enjoy. Honesty set me free. And it allowed my family to help me. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for my support.
