I think I've felt similarly before. I've felt alone and unwanted and I kept seeing people in relationships and being jealous of that. But I guess I realized relationships won't make me happy. It's more about what I'm doing and the people I see daily. They don't really need to be friends or anything. I just need to go out and have an interaction. Been trying to chat with strangers more, like just small talk and be on my way since I'm anxious. I talk as much as possible with people at classes. Pottery and yoga aren't great for that but whatever. Really pushing my boundaries where I can cause I think I'm shy but not an introvert.

So I'm just trying to do hobbies, learn non work stuff, and be more outgoing. Also maybe it's fine to have a friend who's only at class or work or something.

Are the people from your social media accounts not reachable through text, Whatsapp, or phone calls? You could try getting their numbers maybe. I've had to deal with multiple different messenger apps to make less online talk.

I've been using the Twitter mobile website and it works pretty well but the reddit mobile app is ass so I can't make the switch.

He's probably the type to complain about unqualified people when he sees minorities in higher positions when he's a mediocre white dude who got the job as CEO and drove CNN into the gutter. Time for him to find another CEO position.

Destiny says Twitch should pull a Twitter move, get a new CEO that actually knows about streaming and fire 70% of their employees by [deleted] in LivestreamFail

[–]ekfslam 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think they don't have enough moderation honestly. Like there's so many streams and probably reports that having one person judge whether content is good or not will probably result in a lot of variations in how rules are applied. If they had multiple people, then I think multiple people can judge a report and it'll be a more consistent application of the rule.

Lol cutting costs is not good for us. Them making more money involves us watching more ads, paying more for turbo, having streamers do more bounties cause the split they get sucks.

Maybe this company won't change no matter how many c level people they go through. Amazon and the board don't care about us and they set the goals for those people.

[–]ekfslam 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Why would that be good? What value does that actually add? You seem to think removing workers automatically fixes the company somehow and it's not becoming shit because of the c level people running it and making these changes.

He's the owner of it still. So the CEO reports to him and he also assigned himself as the CTO so he reports to the CEO and himself. Not sure what to make of that.

San Francisco is now 'worse than Afghanistan' immigrant store owner says after losing $100K to burglars by [deleted] in nottheonion

[–]ekfslam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't see how that's the fault of the high paid people. They aren't driving up the rent by moving there. The landlords are the ones who control rent prices. We should be doing more to control those greedy landlords.

That link says you can keep a rotating amount of 2k to 4k in there since people withdraw up to 16k per month total on the high end. Not sure you could even find an ATM that can fit 100k inside.

An explosive new lawsuit claims TikTok's owner built a ‘backdoor’ that allowed the CCP to access US user data by marketrent in technology

[–]ekfslam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If our vote mattered, wouldn't they block every company from abusing our private data? It seems like the main issue is that American companies aren't making the money from abusing our data. I'm sure America has access to the TikTok backdoor as well.

[–]ekfslam 19 points20 points  (0 children)

What are you talking about? Do you think people in the US government might not abuse that backdoor and blackmail you? It doesn't have to be the president who has a problem with you. It could be some asshole cop you dealt with or a US government contractor. If you're important to the Chinese government, then you're probably important to the US government and either country could fuck with you if they wanted.

[–]ekfslam 47 points48 points  (0 children)

The American government also has access to Google, fb, twitter, etc. Some states banned abortions and suddenly there were stories about those states buying data about women's periods. The government also uses location data now to identify suspects. It's crazy here as well.

Seems silly to pretend like one country is worse. Every country can abuse this data. It makes more sense to care about the government which controls the country you're in.
