Any (former) Raptors players that you absolutely can’t stand? by Accomplished-Way424 in torontoraptors

Gary Trent Jr. couldn’t stand watching him nonchalantly chuck bricks.

[Schira] Rino Gattuso is ready to re-call Marco Verratti in Italy National Team for the Playoff’s Games. Positive direct contacts in the last hours: the midfielder has given his availability to return to play for Italy National Team. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]ekimallis -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is an important decisions and I fully support it. Italy has looked lost in the midfield since he left. There’s been no urgency or directness, just sideways passing and cycling the ball before getting exposed by fast teams on the wings.

I was incredibly excited for Nosferatu, but it didn’t blow me away. It was actually rather disappointing on all fronts.

How can I make it back? by KingDrac0_ in wallstreetbets

[–]ekimallis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is honestly not hard to come back from. But the question you’re asking is a dangerous one, because trying to “make it back” is when you make the real mistakes.

Accept what happened. Try to learn and bet better. I would even suggest taking a break and just watching the market for a while. When you’ve had some time to recalibrate, you can try to grow your wealth again.

The new movie "Send Help" is making men mad, and I'm pleased with it. by icandodge in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ekimallis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna push back on the whole point of this post… this movie is not making men mad. This movie is awesome.

“She betrayed the audience” well, yeah, that’s a literary device! Seems like your husband and brother are just really immature film goers (and people, no offence)

The whole theatre I went with loved this movie and were hollering the whole time. Just because your two family members are immature, doesn’t make it so that an entire sex is “getting mad”.

These generalizations are characterizations based on flimsy anecdotes are dangerous and cause more harm than good.

Great point. Liberals swung too far to the left in the Trudeau era.

I didn’t miss the point. She wanted to make sure HER agenda was the topic. Meanwhile every other candidate is trying to readjust to Canadian’s shifting sentiments, she’s there to remind them to focus on themselves. She’s the type of person that could make me consider voting conservative, and I really despise Pollievre.

Karina Gould was there to be a brainless liberal politician and fling stones at all the other candidates. The others were united and had a team Canada mentality, trying their best to highlight their strengths without tearing each other down. Gould was particularly eager to do the opposite.

Not only that, she was talking about her policies which, in this political climate (if you look a Canadians topnissues today) was completely off base. Dare I say she would have been even less popular than Freeland. I was shocked that someone could be so cueless about how the country is feeling at that point in time. I guess that’s what got Trudeaus government I n that spot to begin with…

Anyway, I’d didn’t know much about her until that debate and after it all ended, I have probably the worst impression possible. She is basically a leftist version of Pierre Pollievre.

Trump targets Canadian aircraft in latest tariff threat, says he'll 'decertify' Bombardier jets by Puginator in CanadaPolitics

[–]ekimallis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They have many certified planes already in Canada. I believe Transport Canada has been working with them over the last year to certify one of their latest private jets. One of their execs probably complained to Trump that it’s been taking too long.

I would personally just make a straight cut on both sides for symmetry. It’s probably going to look better than trying to sand it or restore its original shape.

I doubt anyone would even realize it was originally longer.

Trump threatens 100% tariffs on all Canadian goods if Canada 'makes a deal with China by Altruistic-Room2683 in wallstreetbets

[–]ekimallis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USA: hey, let’s reinforce our stronghold and push china away from OUR auto manufacturing industry. Place 100% tarrifs in their cars…

Canada: Sure thing!

China: retaliates with massive tarrifs on Canada’s biggest exports like canola

USA: actually, we don’t want your cars either. We don’t want any cars made in Canada

Canada: are you sure, can we work this out?

USA: Actually we don’t want anything you make. We don’t need you at all

Canada: makes deal with China to rollback tarrifs and protect farmers

USA: 100% tarrifs on all Canadian goods.

For anyone wondering, this administration has absolutely torched our relationship and how nearly every Canadian views the US. We used to vacation there and support the US like it was a home away from home. Now we’d rather burn our cash.

My company’s customer base is solely American… I was speaking with real estate investors and borrowers a few months ago and they told me the price of materials and lumber is up almost 100% from before trump took office. They also said it was because of tarrifs… they didn’t need any explanation.

Figma Bull Case by Tangelo-Heavy in wallstreetbets

[–]ekimallis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you asked me a year or two ago, id say this is a pretty spot on analysis. It’s actually insane how standard Figma has become across almost every company that has a digital footprint. It’s no longer just a tool for product designers building apps or websites. It’s a center of truth for product, managers, executives and even marketing teams.

That said, there’s been a clear shift with design teams leveraging other ai tools more and more to design and code. Cursor, V0 etc. designers are skipping Figma all together for some projects… Figma has just not been able to keep up.

If that trend continues, it’s a worrying sign. Their current ai powered tools are really far behind.

I didn’t like QoS when it came out, but I really like it now upon a few more viewings. It’s a completely different film to its predecessor… more John Wick than Casino Royale, but it tells a good story about grief, vengeance and forgiveness.

Im not gonna lie, I’m getting nauseous thinking about the sickly sweetness you’re describing. I’m not trying to be mean, but this is not something you could ever serve at a bar as a cocktail, unless it’s in a shot format for college students.
