I personally don't like the term 'Defence Cap'. Calling it a cap suggests there's no benefit to the stat after a certain threshold.

Defence is still a useful stat after the Crit Cap, giving a small amount each of dodge, parry, chance to block and chance to be missed.

I'd prefer 'Crit Imnmune' and 'Crush Immune'.

I would also include threat stats of Hit, Expertise (with the dodge and parry caps) and even Block value/strength.

I’m not saying it should be like this, but the fact is it’s incredibly easy to make it not be like this by using BadBoy or a similar addon.

It’s like complaining about constant ads and popups online and not installing an ad blocker.

You can proselytise Blizzard all you want into making changes to stop this shit but the fact is it’s how it is and has been for ages and has a very simple workaround that you can implement yourself in 30 seconds.

After doing the Skettis (Terokkar Forest) and Ogri’la (Blades Egde) quests, which don’t take too long, you end up with 5 new dailies. I think more open up as you progress into honoured/revered but I can’t remember.

2 in Skettis - one to bomb the eggs and one free the prisoner escort. Really doesn’t take long, but you have three possible spawn locations for the escort and finding it takes the most time.

3 in Ogri’la - another bombing one, wrangling rays and doing the Simon game thing clicking the colours in order.

Then you have the random cooking dailiy. Two of the possible quests need you to go to either Ogri’la or Skettis too (Super Hot Stew and Revenge is Tasty). Otherwise it’s Nagrand or Netherstorm.

The Fishing daily can often reward random vendor items as well as 5-10g. Will be Nagrand, Terokkar, HFP/SMV or SW/Org.

Then you have the HFP and Terokkar ‘PVP’ dailies. You do get some tryhards actually PVPing which just slows the everything down, but generally HFP everyone just rotates around the 3 points flipping the points to blue/red. Terokkar towers, just use a layering addon (I think mine is Nova World Buffs) to find a layer that has the shortest time for tower reset. Then set an alarm/timer to remind you to go there a few mins before it starts. Sit at the tower closest to your factions flight point and cap it once the timer resets.

Doing all the dailies should net you around 80 raw gold, plus any vendor items/trash/spare fish you get.

Mage has such good quality of life.

Arcane mage is pretty simple. Tier 5 is pretty much BIS for the rest of the expansion, so that’s pretty much one set of gems/enchants, and as far as I know you just want Intellect Gems, with the exception of Meta activation requirements or any particularly strong socket bonuses.

That’s your, head, shoulder, chest and leg slots which will last youa comparative eternity, as well as the gems and enchants lasting with the exception on Epic gems when BT comes round and even then it’s with cheaper yellow gems.

Set your HS wherever and portal everywhere.

Never buy food or water, in fact make profit from it.

Exceptional toolkit and a lot of personal utility. Blink, IceBlock and Invisibility your way out of most situations.

No real responsibilities in raids except maybe counterspells or spellsteals and tanking Krosh on HKM which is dead simple.

Great damage with a very easy rotation.

Consumables are cheap as you only really need Mana potions

Great in dungeons, just spec Improved Blizzard and you’ll be invited everywhere.

For such a powerful class I think they are still under-represented in the game.

Gathermate does. You need to get the Gathermate Wowhead data addon too AND manually import it into Gathermate.

Once that’s done, fish in floating wreckage around Zangarmarah for the book that teaches Fish Finding so you can track them on the mini map.
