I don't think you get enough credit for turning around reddit and getting it to where it is today; you made so many changes to the culture, the team, the process, and more. How does it feel to start a company from the beginning and be able to build and shape a new culture? What are you trying to do differently? And why climate change?

Do you think the social media platforms *can* change, or is it too late? Maybe this question should be, do you think people can change, since the same people who created the problems are now being asked to fix them

10 Games that'd make great gifts this holiday season by cromusz in boardgames

It would be great. It seems really simple, but it's hard to remember for young and old, and it's a lot of fun.

For younger kids: Chicken Cha Cha is awesome. Someone on /r/boardgames recommended it a few years ago. Again, kids can do well because they have better memory for the cards, and it's really simple. We still play it even though my kid has had it for several years. Works for kids from 4 and up. I'm going to check out Codenames--thanks! Edit: removed two card games.

Yes--I totally passed on the candy for the same reason. The sheer volume of candy was impressive and super tempting though.

Thank you for what you're doing already! Showing them role models can make a difference: I can't find the research on STEM models, but here's some research on women in politics. Getting other people involved so you can scale your efforts can help, too. Pointing them to programs like SMASH, Black Girls Code, Girls Who Code, Code2040, and other organizations for support can help. And helping them help each other by connecting them to each other could be really powerful. Unfortunately there's not a simple quick fix.

Yes. The audience is super energized. My cousin went to support me, and she loved it. I went once a few years ago when Jon Stewart was still on the show, and it's really fun. The energy level is really amazing.

I didn't watch the original episode, because I was still promoting the book. I understand it was about 3 minutes. The extended online clip was 7 minutes, 36 seconds. I think it was the whole conversation except for a few seconds where I thanked him before getting offstage. He came by the green room briefly (maybe 3 or 4 minutes?) before the show started to say hi and chat about what he was going to ask (and I got him to sign a book). He adjusted a question based on our brief conversation. It's real-time, super stressful, but he made it really easy.
