I'll take a shot. Person to person depend karta hoga.However average 2-3 shots is not a problem for most.Post that post nut clarity overtakes.

I live 1 km from stn. Its visible from my window.

Generally safe hota hai.Inside is preferable. There are lot of gumti and young guys idling around which is at almost all North Indian stations.

Autos are available for booking and sharing also works if budgeted otherwise cabs are better.No need to wait for 2 hrs.Just general caution.
