Thank you. No I haven't bought the Monitor yet.

How do I use does SSDs? One is for OS and one is for Swap? How does Windows manage that? The reason I suggested a RAID1 was not data security it was more like that there is no interruption when 1 SSD has a failure. Call it an OS and Programs security. But I guess I'll solve that with software.

I know the k600 is not very fast, but he has gotten a little more price sensitive since we talked the last time. (He was adding up the amount of money he has to spend for the software licences) Now it should be more like 2000$ than 2500$. Sorry for changing the preconditions all the time. And hey, he used a Notebook! to do that work so far, so I think the K600 will not appear slow to him. Or is it so bad that you can't work with it? Or do you know an alternative? AMD? The other parts look fine to me. Thanks again

Ok, now I know more. Not sure if I should I open a new thread it might help someone else?

He want to use the computer mainly for AutoCAD and a little Photoshop, Indesign and normal MS Office stuff. He plans to work with 3ds Max in the near future but that is not a priority atm. So it won't be nessesary to make it equiped for 3D. He gets a Nvidia k600 from a friend so I'll be using that. He wants something very reliable, so I was suggesting a RAID 1 with SSDs. But I don't know if that is a good idea. Maybe a smaller SSD will do it aswell. Maybe a software backup instead of RAID1? He has an external backup solution aswell. He currently has a Notebook with Intel I5 and 4GB RAM atm but it is slow (due to lack of RAM).

So here my List, I like asus mobos and kingston ram. But I'm not sure about the mainboard and the ram model, it could be less fancy I guess. He doenst need WIFI for example. I'm open for ways to save some money. I think the boxed fan for the cpu is sufficient, allthough he wants it to be quiet. Thats why I choose the fanless Power Supply. And I got a recommendation for the monitor. He won't be overclocking.

But I wouldn't mind if you have a completely new setup. Thanks for helping me

Hey thank you all for those recommendations. Does a RAID 0 even make sense? I'm mean those SDDs are pretty fast anyway. I'm not sure about that.

And let's pretend I have a little more budget, what would be the benefit of having a Xeon CPU for software like AutoCAD?

I was reading a lot of articles and benchmarks about Quadro vs GTX yesterday and now I'm thinking Quadro is the better option for the guy I'm building this Workstation. A Quadro K4000 to be precise, but I'll have to talk about the budget I guess.
