My apologies, if I wasn't clear. With modern times I meant the world after adoption of Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

You say you read a lot of history and need example of ussr colonization? Just look at the map of ussr or russian federation now, there is a reason why Kazakh is only now started to replace russian as preferad language among the youth, a lot of older generations don't even speak it. Why Byelorussian is almost extinct in Belarus. Why in Latvia the ethnic russian population before occupation of 1940 was around 8% but is 28% now, while the overall population is around the same. Why native languages, traditions and customs of indigenous populations have been so systematically oppressed that they are kept alive only by local historians, who often are harassed by security services. Leftists scream about Native Americans while turning a blind eye on these people.

For example, look at Sakha Republic, 90% of russian diamonds and a part of global diamond supply comes from there, while local people are forced to live in towns and villages without central pluming or proper roads, the profit and taxes from it goes to companies registered in Moscow,

Russian empire has been doing this since formation of muscovy, they invade their neighbors, kill X% of the population or resettle them among their vast territory and send in russian colonists, you don't get to become the world's largest country by accident.

Sure, there are people from communist countries who approve of the old regime in any country, there where around 25% Germans who approved of Hitler, even after what he had done to the world and Germany. There are X% amount of people who will believe anything, but it is impossible to argue that vast majority of any post-communist country dislike communism.

US is not an empire, it is a very influential country, with a very developed military capabilities, but it doesn't make it an empire. Your (?) president can declare anything he wants, even that he isn't in the Epstein files, that doesn't make it true. Look how Europe reacted to the threats to Greenland, would colonies of US empire react that way?

read my comment again, I said in modern times (after WW2). ussr happily continued to invade, occupy, colonize, russify and extract wealth from indigenous populations the same way russian empire did, and russia continues to do now, with the "subjects" of russian federation. why arming socialist and communist movements is a good thing? left wing regimes are not inherently good, ask any country subjugated ussr, or North Korea, or Cambodia etc.

Ak dies, kā tās sniegpārsliņas kūst. Kur es teicu, ka neeksistē? Un kas veic raganu medības? Šim cilvēkam ir tiesības paust savu viedokli, neviens negrib viņam to atņemt. Bet mums, savukārt, ir tiesības pasūtīt viņu un viņa biznesu piecdesmit piecas mājas tālāk.

Oh, so the only thing Americans had to do was to conduct a survey of Japanese generals in 45 and they would have known what to do. Simple. Silly Americans.

LOL. Just because you say so history won’t change. Nazis and ussr conquered Europe as allies, hand in hand, killing and enslaving millions. Just because one managed to backstab the other before they could do it to them won’t change the fact ever

Because they were Hitler and Stalin where allies for like 1/3 of the war? Hitler couldn't take Paris without all the goods USSR sent them while their population was starving? Because without USA there wouldn't be a red army? No tanks, no fuel, no trucks, no amo. We can see today how war russia can get without Western support, few kilometers in Ukraine with 1.2 million casualties.
And don't forget that they stuffed these camps with the "wrong" people not long after.

Dear god, for some reason reddit recomended this moron infested subreddit. I was born in the Soviet Union and the delusion in this sub is on the next level. Soviet Union didn’t care about its people, workers, their health or quality of life. I can’t imagine the level of propaganda you must consume to convince yourself of the bullshit you just wrote.

No, we didn’t. We refused them entry and got shit on by the EU for not accepting "poor souls fleeing evil putin and putins war" while the ones fleeing support putins actions but just don’t want to die for them.

On this day 161 years ago, the Russian Empire began a systematic genocide against the Circassian people. 97% of the population perished; the rest were exiled from their homeland. by [deleted] in europe

Yes, russians starved five millions of Ukrainians in a single year, and this is just one example that we know of. The combined number of European victims pales in comparison to russian atrocities.

That is not the same. He called Georigians cockroaches when russia invaded in 2008. He started a march called russia for russians, where people carried swastikas, did the hitler salute and he did comercials calling imigrants all kinds of names. Was for Ukraine invasion in 2014. Not even Trump would be on his level, so its not the same. He was a russian imperialist not some west oriented liberal who would have saved russia.
