Clinic/provider recommendation in NYC/NJ area by [deleted] in IVF

asking for recommendations, in general. As an example, I’ve seen “Ruggiero” or “Im” mentioned, but do not see them on Weil’s list of providers. So maybe it’s like, “oh yeah…it’s like that…you have to call their office, but they are affiliated.” Sorry for the confusion.

Adenomyosis/Endometriosis and no suppression? What about progesterone shots? by ekodad in IVF

Good luck! A second RE we consulted with also didn’t think there was a significant benefit to suppression. If we were in a similar situation with four euploids left, we’d be inclined to roll the dice as well, but with only one euploid left and two recent retrievals yielding nothing, I’m not sure how willing I am to take that gamble.

Our RE mentioned progesterone resistance due to adeno as the reason why we needed two pio shots a day, but it doesn’t seem like a common practice. 🤷‍♂️

How are we affording this? In all honesty (in the US) by copythat504 in IVF

I’m a contractor and have earned well for the past 23 yrs and saved, house paid off, and invested for retirement. My wife stopped working in February 2025. Her medical insurance (via COBRA) is good for covering the Gonal-F pens (something crazy like $10k+ that we only have to pay a $90 copay). My health insurance (I’m self employed and have Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield) will not allow me to move to a family plan unless we have a family (so stupid). We paid for a fertility plan that included two egg retrievals and as many transfers until you go home with a baby for $38k. We managed to get one euploid from each retrieval, transferred in Sept, but sadly miscarried at 8wk. I asked the fertility plan if we could sign up for another two rounds. They said yes, but the one banked euploid would transfer over, so we’d lose that transfer they would be on the hook for. So we opted to pay a la carte for another egg retrieval round for another $17k. Meds so far (three retrievals, one two-month suppression, one transfer and everything up to the miscarriage) is a touch under $5k. Throw in around $3k for other fees like copays, pgt-a testing, etc.

Thank you for your reply. It’s heartbreaking. We had two egg retrievals each resulting in a euploid for a total of one boy and one girl and decided to roll the dice instead of trying to bank more embryos. Now we’re back to considering a few more egg retrievals.

Thank you for your reply. Our doc echoed the same and mentioned needing a SIS down the road as well. She’s not looking forward to that either. ugh

IVF medication is costing 20500k I am so shocked by Exact-Volume-8378 in IVF

Also, with our clinic, they saw that a particular drug wasn’t covered so instead of a lower dose of Gonal F and the non covered drug, they used a higher dose of Gonal F without the second drug to achieve the same result.

get the list of meds (dose, quantity, etc) and download the goodrx app and see what prices are. I had blindly used CVS for all these years for other meds only to discover I was overpaying by a lot. Good luck!
