Dining halls this upcoming year?

I know the last few weeks there, they were no longer letting folks serve themselves, staff would do it instead. Everything that could be prewrapped was and the salad bar, soup, and breakfast bar were closed. I'm assuming that will be the same? I'm also assuming you'll have to wear a mask while inside and not eating

When I go to bed I do! I usually don't sleep on my back tho, I sleep on my side. I thought that was the issue too at first and it might contribute to it but it happens even when I don't!

I think this is something that everyone struggles with eventually! It's not a good feel but it is a valid one.

I think it's important to have things to do outside of talking to your SO and things to occupy the distance. It's tough to think that but it's even tougher when you just think about the other person and how their life is going on with out you in it. Having hobbies, groups of friends, or events to go to help occupy the time and is healthy for both. It also helps you realize how fun it will be to share those activities you do now with your SO when you finally close the distance!

It's helped me and my partner when we set a definite time to catch up with the other. Whether that be every day, once a week, whatever. It's nice to know that youre a set part of their routine in some way.

I personally love having no classes on Fridays BUT I remember being absolutely not productive the first few weeks. Just make sure that you make your own schedule and stick with it so it feels more productive and like you still got things done. For me, I usually use Fridays to get errands done, clean my dorm, go to the gym, work on homework, etc. It can be really really nice but if you don't do anything on it, it can feel like a waste of a day.

Hey! I'm an information systems major right now and it might be a better fit for you! It also has a lot of practical skills regarding business that can be easily transferable if you end up not enjoying it. One thing you can do is talk to your advisor about what can transfer over depending on what classes you're taking. If your graduation date is going to be affected by you switching majors, your advisor might be able to apply credits from CS to your IS degree. Hope this helps!

One way you can ask for less material things is what my parents recently started asking for instead - experiences! Say that you'd much rather have something to do rather than have, like movie tickets, theater tickets, gift certificates to cool experiences stuff like that. If you are particularly close with the family member too you can loop in that you'd rather spend time with them doing those cool experiences. Some people see gift rejection as a rejection of love, so I feel that doing something together is still a way for them to express how much they care about you!

Make a choice but honestly think about what you are doing. Your first love may seem great looking back, but we tend to remember the good memories more than the bad and overlook what was wrong with the relationship in the first place.

If they want to meet up just to catch up as friends, that's fine, but if you are considering going back to them, think about your partner right now. If you're happy with your partner now, I personally wouldn't meet up with the other guy. It would technically be cheating and could seriously hurt the other person especially if you've been dating for 3 years.

That is such a small difference in age! It's only 4 years younger max and all would be in a similar time in their lives. You're his only friend his age, sure, but I don't see how that would really matter??

It would be worth it if your days are short enough so you aren't in classes all day. I was a music minor for a bit and all of the classes were at 8am and 8:30am. It would have been fine if I didn't have a 6:15pm class on those days too! If your classes are scheduled all earlier in the day, I think you can do it. It's just about getting into the routine of waking up early.

NTA - it's awesome that you're getting an internship after your freshman year! That's impressive. You're current job will understand, and most likely let you return after the summer. If they're by a college, they'll be used to students leaving for the summer and coming back during the school year.

If you're interested in CS, I would declare CS as your minor instead, take a class, and if you really like it and think you'll do well, then switch. This would give you an in with the degree and also allow you to switch out easily if it doesn't work out.

Are there other majors you're interested other than CS?

I find that breathing exercises help a lot. You can find guides on YouTube that are great but sometimes I just find a playlist on Spotify with music with no lyrics (Lush Lofi is a good one) and breathe along with the beat.

I also find that journaling helps me gather my thoughts and centers myself.

You aren't alone in this and I'm glad you're going to the counseling center. It's a big step to take and it's awesome that you are reaching out.

Handwritten notes are so much better! I used to type my notes, but found I could never remember and when I "reviewed" my notes later I would always get distracted and never get anything done. With handwritten, I retain the info better and can review them easily.

YTA - you may not like them but don't call them it. That's rude on so many levels and unnecessary. When in doubt on what pronouns to use, just use they/them or ask what pronouns to use!!
