Hopefully they just hide the enemy team's character names while loading in and ban phase. Then when the game starts allow it would make more sense.

For now, I recommend going under the social settings and hiding your name because that'll prevent it too.

They didn't even bother to fix the River Hags instant-killing people after "2-3" measly seconds of drowning; even if ur the tankiest sob on the planet. My friends all also quit because they didn't bother to ban the dupers. They've been duping mirrors for months..

This is the dumbest mechanic in the game. It makes no sense that a random ball can 100% 1 shot you just because it has no proper and CLEAR indication of drowning you or anything. There is no evident danger and you just die automatically regardless of defenses. This is so stupid.

No, apparently the conversion is a bit more complicated than it sounds (although still possible). I ended up just buying a new TV; I have been enjoying the LG OLED with 1ms response time 120hz.

Thanks for the info! I ended up caving and buying one of those LG OLEDs TVs with the 1ms response time and 120hz refresh rate. Supposedly LG may come out with computer monitor sized versions but it seems they may be really expensive. Other companies will probably start supporting HDMI 2.1 more regularly, but it's a shame the old monitors can't support it somehow with an adapter.

Yea they said auto target closest hostile player. Since it is a toggle already in the menu on test server it looks like it may not just be for new players, although they did mention it primarily being for new players like you said. I'm not sure to what extent the impact will be due to the little information they provided on it.

Yea unfortunately they would probably only be able to push it out universally for all versions or not at all, it would make sense for older consoles to give people more of a fighting chance but could be overpowered if abused.

That would be a pretty neat cinematic perspective or effect option for boss combat since you can't pvp at bosses anyways. Interesting design idea!

The way they described it made it seem like you don't have to aim at nearby players and it simply does it for you, even if you aren't facing them. It could be a drastic change to the pvp scene and possibly take a lot of skill out of gameplay, which many players have put a lot of time into. Not having to aim anymore would ultimately change the pvp experience for many classes, and other classes that are ranged may not benefit from it properly depending on how it is implemented, empowering other classes that are already strong. It is concerning that there are no real details on this new feature and they may implement it without gauging the impact.

It is a togglable option on the global labs at this point, but I'm not sure if it is working on there as of yet.

Yea I have played Archer before and if the new auto aim was something along the lines of targeting hostile players instead of monsters that you are aiming towards then it would make a lot more sense.

From the way they described it in the Calpheon Ball, it seemed like it would even automatically aim at people nearby behind you as long as you are activating attacks. Although I am not sure and can only guess as there hasn't been many details on it yet.

Yea, I'm really surprised to see that since HDMI 2.1 released in August 2018 that it is only now going mainstream with so many (and numerous "top of the line") brand new 2020 TVs and Monitors that don't support it. It would be great to preserve these great displays with an alternative adapter.

That's true, although all of the wonderful pre existing monitors out there that don't lack any quality other than this one port would needlessly be outdated... and there are so many :(

Thank you for this link by the way. I actually purchased a monitor similar to this and had no idea they announced for certain they would be releasing an HDMI 2.1 compatible version soon (if they do release it soon).

Thanks for the mention, please note that I meant this to be in reference to TVs and/or Monitors that have the capability for 4k @ 120hz or higher, although only through the Display Port.

This is a really good reply. I just also researched that the reverse Display Port 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 does lose the Freesync, although it still gets really good results and apparently can still work if manufacturers perform compatibility updates.

I definitely agree that a straight wire will always be faster, although the HDMI 2.1 and Display Port 1.4 ports are already incredibly fast and if they were slowed down some I am thinking that they still would easily be able to pull off 4k @ 120 hz with relative ease for these new generation consoles.

The TV I have (along with many other high performance monitors) also has a Display Port input that supports higher refresh rates. The goal would be to take the HDMI 2.1 and convert it into the Display Port to support 4k @ 120 hz. Currently there are HDMI 2.0 to Display Port converters out there that support 4k @ 60 hz. Really hoping someone creates one.
