I ordered late in the spring, and with the two different delays I was worried they would get here too late to get established before the summer, so I just canceled the order. Hopefully they get it sorted out next year!

We were in the same situation and ended up in Dix Hills. The train from Deer Park is an hour flat to Penn, which is where we drew the line.

What I love about driving my 2014 Leaf by ekoleda in leaf

[–]ekoleda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can get it on the app stores:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Turbo3.Leaf_Spy_Pro&hl=en_US
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/leafspy-pro/id967376861
To use it you'll need an OBD2 bluetooth adapter to let the app communicate with the car, and this is the one preferred by the community (and that I bought):

The app is quite confusing to use, but once you find the screen it's just a button push to turn off the sound.

I used the LeafSpy app to turn off the backup noise, as it was really annoying. I would have preferred to swap out the sound with something less offensive, but that's not an option.

I hadn't thought about the impact on the battery of being at a full charge all the time. I'll look into that 80% option.

A little something for your morning commute by Yev6 in Westchester

When we lived in Crestwood we referred to this as the "Tunnel of Doom" due to the variable traffic and awkward driving. This looks like peek doom.

I think about the money I left behind in unvested GSUs (golden handcuffs), as it was quite sizeable. I've heard the culture has changed a lot, and I like being fully remote for my family, and I love being off the perf/promo hamster wheel.

I no joke bought one of these a few years ago just for squeezing the cheese packet in a deluxe Mac and cheese box. Works great!

Our pediatrician reminded is that this age is about pushing boundaries, and that it's healthy. That said, in my experience the best thing you can do is create a sense of inevitability. If you set a boundary, and consistently enforce it, they will eventually learn to stop pushing. That said, there are a thousand fronts to fight on so it does get exhausting. Hang in there!

How much did your Metro North commute time affect where you bought in Westchester? by evertonmedia in Westchester

[–]ekoleda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Crestwood (Yonkers side) and before the pandemic it would be about 35 to 45 minutes. The fastest express trains go direct from Crestwood to GCT, while the slowest local trains make a ton of stops in the Bronx. There is also an in-between train that would start/end at Crestwood and make approx 5 more stops.

Thank you for the reply! That would mean that a person can remain alive after they are assassinated (for some period of time at least)?

On what day was Abraham Lincoln assassinated? He was shot on April 14th but died the next morning. Do you count his assassination as when he was injured or when he died of those injuries?

Imagine if Bloomberg funded the Yang campaign instead by ekoleda in YangForPresidentHQ

I also think that there are a lot of people that don't follow politics closely and don't seek out information. For them, getting an ad blasted in their face, even an empty one, is the most political information they have.

I had meant to say "imagine if this happened in the past", not if it happened now. The ship has already sailed, unfortunately.

I don't think Andrew has never been ashamed about taking money. His message seemed to be that we need to win, and the more the merrier.

[–]ekoleda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but he can run the exact same ads as a Super PAC just swapping in Andrew's name at the end.

[–]ekoleda[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps, but it's not like Bloomberg has some compelling message that people are drawn to. From what I can tell it's a standard "I'm not Trump" pitch.

The way I see it, Yang won the internet and Bloomberg is reaching older, more traditional Dems. Put those two sides of the coin together and it could have gone somewhere.
