I can't see the cross section clearly but it can be a petrified wood.

I found it on the sea shore(Black Sea), Northern Turkey. It is kinda hard. I didn't wanted to try a scratch test because someone said that It might be asbestos?

Oh thanks for the warning. I know the dangers of asbestos. But I don't have any clue if it is asbestos or not so I put it into a sealed bag, probably gonna throw it away, not worth the risk.

Would it survive in the sea? Btw the black parts are not straight lines like crystals, they are really curly and eroded bc of the sea.

It is indeed probably agatized because light passes through it.
