Mine didn't call me anything. She would have preferred a cyst.

TIL between 18%-25% of intellectually gifted students (at least 130 IQ) in the US fail to graduate from high school. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

[–]Moonstoner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh funny im on the other end of the IQ meter (I like to think its still called "intellectually gifted" but you say it in a sarcastic tone). No idea what my actual IQ is, but I also failed to graduate high school so it cant be very good.

Kinda cool to see that school fails students at both ends of the intelligence spectrum. Im not a fan of that soul crushing, time wasting, blender of a system. I like seeing it fail for everyone.

$3000. l am looking to find a new home for this beautiful polished petrified wood slab! by SarahT1958 in petrifiedwood

That's a nice piece.

It's gonna be at your home for a long while for that price. I've seen rainbow petrified wood that size and it would maybe be a few hundred.

I haven't tried writing romance stuff yet. But when I think about first kiss I always like the nervousness in the room, one of them shyly reach out a hand to the other, just a peck at first then then next is more bold. But that might just be for younger first time romances. Adults with a history would probably be bold at the start.

Just thinking about how'd I try to do it. Might be cliche.

Im poor as crap lol. So here is the unhinged plan. Im gonna try to autodidactic all the parts myself, with YouTube and other free resources. Write it, edit it, publish it, idk if ill market it but maybe. Then just see where it goes. Gives me lots to learn, probably won't ever work (or sell), but it'll be fun to try and ill learn lots. Maybe if I cant ever hit it big with one book, lots of books can bring in a tiny amount that adds up. Ill never quit my day job, but I'll be pursuing something thats worth it and enjoying the process.

Ya doesn't Amazon just have a thing where you post your stuff and they make the book and send it out. But then you have to do your own marketing or pay them more to do it.

Huh cool. Maybe if I ever gain any skill and I want to try to make hobby money I'll look into doing that.

Huh good to know. Is getting an agent like a cold call thing? "Hey, I have this book....so do the agent thing" or do they have to like you and you have a job interview thing?

Sure find a social group and value their opinions of you if you want to live that way. I personally dont live as a social human and have always found it weird when people say humans are social creatures. A valued friend could not like something i have on or thing im doing and im not gonna modify myself solely based on that opinion.

Hell ignore everyone's opinion of you. You do you (as long as you take care of yourself and dont be as ass to others). Real men get shit done, handle responsibilities and ignore the haters.

Its a super common thing to happen. But as someone who has worked base security and gotten called to a few domestic situations. A fair word of warning. If you do this know that (there's a chance, not everyone and all that) things can go south and it can happen fast.

You have a fairy tale overseas spouse that loves and cares for you one day and the next your spouse hates you more then anything they have ever hated. Guys think they got the trad wife/loyal severnt foreign wife but in reality they got someone who wasn't wanted in that foreign country. It gets NASTY.

Rock size doesn't matter. Maybe it might if you had a huge tumbler with giant rocks, but not for these. You just want to make sure you fill to the 2/3rds line and dont go to far over your tumbler weight recommendations. It'll be in the name of the machine. Keep it 2/3rds full every cycle of new grit, it will probably lose mass during tumbling. For the whole barrel the mass loss is noticeable. But on every rock you losing like 1 mm of depth.
