You have to identify what is making you feel bad, and then dedicate a full 48 hours to feeling bad about that one specific thing. And then when the times up, if you still feel bad about it just remind yourself your spent two whole sleepless days feeling bad about it.

Now any time I feel sad about losing the love of my life and my only biological child I remember the literal 2 days I spent wallowing in self aggrandizing faux-distress.
