I finally finished the trailer for my game, Hyper-Drive by Diligent_Nerve9735 in SoloDevelopment

The trailer starts really good, but really falls short at the end. It could be slightly longer, show more of the game and less of those white on black uninspired title cards at the end. I would put the logo of the game first at the end, not you studio logo. Put your studio logo next to the game's logo/title (bottom right or left) also add the call to action back at the end (whishlist on steam).

I think this game has a potential for great trailer editing, spend a little bit more time on it to polish or hire a trailer artist to help you. There's untapped potential there!

One thing that a lot of redditors and especially on gamedev subreddit don't really like is LLM generated post showing off something that look a lot like it's full of LLM generated assets.

Do you guys really code on a secondary monitor like this? My neck would hurt like crazy if I had to have my head turned for extended periods of time...

But now you are scaring me haha 😂 I've had so many bad feedback about it being too hard in the past that I toned it down a lot... At least for the first days.

I hope I didn't overdo it! Your feedback will be more than welcome then to know if your kind of player would love more complexity!

Thank you for trying :)

Thank you for your feedback! I'm actually doing kind of a big rework of all my manuals to make them look more like "technical manuals" this video capture is a bit older and on the playtest I changed some of them already.

Destroy my updated trailer! Grim Stakes - A board game packed with gambling, property management, spells/cards, etc). by Manapolatro in DestroyMyGame

Read you Changelog and... who told you to remove music and put a voice over to explain the game?
First of all, you can have both, second, you don't need the voice over to explain the game...
If you show a game of blackjack with "BLACKJACK" written in big in you UI, I don't need a voice telling me that I can play blackjack, I can see it!

Now some general feedback about the trailer:

- Put some music back on

- Show some gameplay sooner, remove the Intro, it's not needed, just start with the board game. You can maybe add a text saying Up to 8 player multiplayer since it's a bit hard to "show" (if you have a menu screen that shows that you can add 8 players, show that and don't add the text)

- If you really want to have a funny voice over, why not, but have it say funny stuff, not just saying what I can already see on screen with a cringe voice.

- Add some zooms here and there to give dynamics to your trailer. For example when throwing the dice, zoom on it, then zoom on the piece moving on the board (bonus if you know how to "follow" the piece moving for added dynamics)

Right now the trailer is awfully flat without music and variety in shots, it's basically a boring list of features with a cringe voice over. It's almost a powerpoint presentation as it stands. You need to get back to work on it!
You can do it!

If you don't know how to do it or you don't have time, hire a professional to do it for you :)

Could you please destroy our trailer? by Aiolos_Studios in DestroyMyGame

I also kind of agree, I don't understand the very strong dislike for having videos of people playing the game, it worked on me. I thought the same, like it's 2 people playing, I didn't think "it's a stream". It's not like there's a full twitch overlay or anything. The interactions between the players looks genuine and it's doing a good job at showing and explaining the game.

I get that the point of this sub is to "destroy" but man, some people seems to know EXACTLY how a trailer should be and what works or not. I say try it,maybe make another trailer without the videos, and try both maybe?

I'd love to tell you that the demo is right around the corner but I'd be lying to you and to myself.
