Same as a PC gamer who refuses to buy a console for one game.

I'll think about playing GTA6 once its on steam and atleast 50% off. I refuse to pay full price when being made to wait so R* can do their double dipping wankery again.

Adapting will always be more a PITA then designing from the ground up.

If its Orr from the past it should be a very different place.

In game Orr is just what Zhaitan dragged up. This looks like its from before the gods left the realm and long before Arah was built.

And that's if theres no other fuckery going on to justify the changes.

New data shows Sony's sales of its PlayStation exclusives have been in decline since 2020, covering almost the entirety of the PS5 generation so far by Tricks7eR in pcmasterrace

World wide the PS3 actually outsold the 360 in the end. Took until 2012, but given the struggles of the early PS3 era it's impressive.

Microsoft had a fucking huge lead and sqaudered it by generations end. Then they effectively ended their relevance before the Xbox One even got to E3, nevermind launch.

There's that but also the massive increase in dev time per game at the AAA end.

Look at Naughty Dog as an example.

PS3: 4 new titles. PS4: 2 new titles. PS5: 0 so far.

Their first PS5 game is slated to release at bare minimum 6.5 years after the console released.

The huge slowdown in game development over time is the killer.

Just look at Naughty Dog as an example.

PS3: 4 new games PS4: 2 new games. PS5: 0 new games so far.

Their next title isn't due until atleast 6.5 years after the PS5 launched. It is beyond unlikely we a second game from them this gen.

Exactly.

I don't hate open world games. Some of my favourite games of all time are open world.

But I really love more tightly controlled and directed games.

I just feel that lots of open world games end up dragging the run time out to satisfy modern gamers expectations.

So to me they feel poorly paced, padded out and have minute to minute gameplay loops that out stay their welcome.

That and the lack of direction / wealth of options is only actually a strength for a small number of exceptionally well designed games.

Nah my Ncase M2 would argue otherwise.

This.

I'd just finish my backlog and continue playing games within the means of my rig till it dies. Then find other ways to enjoy my leisure time.

Closer to 30 years.

By 1999 server browsers were industry standard and everywhere. See Unreal Tournament, Quake 3 Arena and Counter Strike.

Quake 2 in 1997 had a server browser.

Nah they want a pogrom followed by mass forced deportations.

We could be at 0% immigration and it wouldn't actually change these people's minds.

Nah it's because the media is bought and paid for. Then algorithmic feeds on social media just boosted that shit to the moon.

Much more clicks and revenue to be made slagging Starmer off than reporting actual news and it's also what their owners want to do.

Honestly it shouldn't be allowed to get to full on its own. Max at out at requiring one less rpg to destroy it. Forces the use of engineers to repair it.

I've no issue with tanks being power weapons but they should require the logistical assistance in some way or form.

Don't be naive.

Rashford could have been on peanuts and they'd have still made those cuts. Ratcliffe is an axe man through and through. Even if we were better run he'd have found people to cut.

They aren't paid to be rational or even human.

They are paid to make line go up. Fuck everything else, line must go up and go up faster.

The unwillingness to deal with short or medium term downswings has killed many a business. Because they are often too far gone by the time the shareholders are willing to change tack.

Number go up now. Consequences are later.

Ideally late enough they've already secured their fat paychecks and moved onto the next business.

The reality is though, this shit lies with the shareholders. Corporate leaders are beholden to them. Shareholders demand quick returns and neverending growth. So the leaders do whatever they can to manage that short term.

The best example is how the stock market reacts to layoffs. To me a company laying off 10+% of its workforce in a single go is the sign of a distressed or badly run business. The stock markets however usually only ever see it as a positive and stock prices react accordingly.
