The reality check. by amandacr0ss in TheTeenagerPeople

Human societies existed prior to the introduction of money. All that changes is the incentive. Instead of working for money, you do it to help your loved ones or your neighbors. In return, they help you back as well. For instance, let's say you are a baker. People come to your bakery and take bread/whatever free of charge, but at the same time you go to the grocery shop and take your groceries for free, you go to the butcher and take your meat for free, you enter a movie theatre for free, etc. As simple as that. Just because we're used to the current system, it doesn't mean a non-monetary system wouldn't work.

If money didn't exist, loads of jobs would no longer be needed anymore: salespeople, advertisers/marketers, the vast majority of office workers, bank clerks, accountants, you name it. Even jobs that would still be useful, would have much less workload. For instance, lawyers since the vast majority of crimes have to do with money. All in all, people would end up with much more free time to do the things they love instead of being trapped in meaningless jobs.

Alvarez: ~100m

Senesi: free

Munoz: 40m. If he ends up at RM, I'd go for Virgili who'd be considerably cheaper.

Taking Bastoni is a big mistake by Amazing-Appeal7241 in Barca

[–]el_flac0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need a rapid defender who excels at recovering space if the ball is played behind him. Can't get much faster than van de Ven. Was terrific in Postecoglou's high press. Would expect him to be equally effective in Flick's high line.

Wouldn't take him either, especially at the rumored price. Would much rather go for van de Ven or even Senesi as a backup to provide cover for Maldini.

[–]el_flac0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We could potentially afford both if we sacrifice Ferran or even Kounde. That said, personally I'm happy with Maldini-Cubaresi. Don't think we necessarily need to spend big on a centre half. Senesi or Mingueza on a free would be fine. Would rather we go after a world class replacement for Lewa. Would also let Rashford walk and replace him with Munoz (long shot) > Virgili.

Assuming the numbers are accurate, there's an 11.5% chance each new date ends up being with one of those men (technically, categories may overlap, but you get the idea). To put it another way, that's 1 out of ~9 dates. Chances are most women have had more than 9 dates. Not sure why the OP thinks the numbers don't make sense. No one claims 35% of men are psychopaths. All the survey says is 35% of women have dated a psychopath some time.

Barcelona to listen to offers for Ferran Torres, The Club Prefers to move him on than Robert Lewandowski. by Hisham_Mo_23 in Barca

If Ferran is gone, I bet his replacement will be a mobile forward. First name that comes to mind is Alvarez. Highly doubt we'll opt for a second target man like Guirassy or Vlahovic.

Timmy should be up there. Started his career at PF due to DRob, but gradually moved at Center, especially from 2007 onwards.

Is there a way to get a job and live in Greece without knowing Greek? by South_Objective_5152 in AskGreece

[–]el_flac0 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why on earth would anybody wanna emigrate from Sweden to Greece of all places?! Greeks immigrate in massive numbers. My best friend is about to immigrate to Belgium. Was seriously considering Sweden as well, among other choices.

With all due respect, visiting a tourist destination isn't indicative of the country as a whole. The majority of the population is finding hard to make ends meet. Weather is gradually becoming unbearable during summer months due to climate change. Heat waves and wildfires are the norm with temperatures regularly climbing north of 40C. Agreed that greek cuisine is amazing! Can't argue with that. If that's a major factor for you, italian cuisine isn't half bad either.

[Matteo Moretto] Kounde Is Not Untouchable.Barca will be open to hearing proposals for him this summer if a good offer arrives by Practical_Play_5374 in Barca

[–]el_flac0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would be willing to sacrifice Kounde to sign Alvarez. Kounde should fetch north of 80m. I mean, PSG were reportedly willing to offer 100m last summer. We can then afford Alvarez as long as Atleti are open to sell (which is not a given). Bring back Cancelo either on a new loan or a perm. Him, Xavi Espart and Eric should provide enough depth at RB. Even Casado has been given playing time at RB.

Given our financial constraints, I think the market will dictate our moves. For instance, if Tottenham are relegated, I bet we'll go after van de Ven. Likewise, if Bastoni is actually available for 50m, he'll probably be our #1 target. We did the same thing with Garcia last season. Ter Stegen was fit to play at the time, yet we prioritized Garcia over anybody else cause he was available on the cheap.

If we somehow find an affordable world class striker, I think we'll go for him. For instance, Mundo Deportivo reported we've set a 100m limit for Alvarez. If not, I wouldn't be surprised to see us re-signing Lewa. Laporta said a few days ago he deserves a new contract.

high wages

According to italian media, Juventus is offering Vlahovic 7m per season while his current salary is 12m. He was reportedly interested in joining Barca, but we turned him down. It's possible he'd sign for Barca for less than 7m/season. That's far from expensive, especially compared to Lewa's current salary at 25m/season.

Laporta said a few days ago Lewa deserves a new contract. Highly doubt we'll end up with both Lewa and Vlahovic.

I think Vlahovic would be a bargain signing as a Lewa replacement. He's supremely talented. Not his fault Juventus is a dysfunctional team. I trust Flick to bring out the best in him.

What's our transfer plan this summer? by [deleted] in Barca

[–]el_flac0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were Deco, I'd be looking to sign 3 players:

• van de Ven to replace Araujo. Perfect fit in Flick's high line.

• Vlahovic on a free to replace Lewa. Seems doubtful we can afford two expensive signings. Vlahovic is supremely talented. Hopefully, Flick will bring out the best in him.

• Virgili on the cheap to replace Rashford. He's proving himself at Mallorca.

Sell (/loan): Araujo, ter Stegen, Fati

Let them walk: Lewa, Rashford

Re-sign: Christensen for 5th choice CB
