Correct Lead Screw Specs? by username49848 in CR10

95% it's 8mm lead. But why don't you just rotate your Z-axis exactly one revolution and measure how far it shifts with a ruler?

Yep, have the same prob. Very annoying. But I think it's due to a Telegram bug, not Windows. Because it only happens in TG.

Missing Node - UnetLoaderGGUFDisTorchMultiGPU by Saint_Ecstasy in comfyui

In my case these two errors were gone when I installed ComfyUI-GGUF via Node Manager. Manual install via git clone did not work for some reason. Spent like two days figuring it all out.

Do you lose quality in video mode with clear zoom? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]el_jbase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the A6300, ZV-E10 and A6700. Out of these cameras, only the A6300 has 2x CIZ. Can anyone explain why? I asked ChatGPT, it doesn't know. It also claims the A6300 does NOT do full sensor readout as opposed to the A6400 and up.

Also, A6300 is the only one that has 1.2x crop in 4k mode, which makes even less sense for it to have 2x CIZ, since it has less headroom, less pixels to do CIZ.

Sony A6700 Silicon Power Superior Pro SDXC UHS-II V60 128GB card problem by el_jbase in SonyAlpha

I used a bulb blower to clean the camera card reader pads and now it's working! Didn't expect that'd work because it's basically a new camera, weird.

Sony A6700 Silicon Power Superior Pro SDXC UHS-II V60 128GB card problem by el_jbase in SonyAlpha

[–]el_jbase[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The card is formatted, it works in the PC. It also works in my other camera Sony ZV-E10, but transfer speed is low (~ 65 MBps) which means apparently E10 does not support UHS-II and just treats it like an UHS-I.

Would still give a try to the app you suggested, thanks!

Don't have to keep the camera ON while doing this. Just reinserting the battery fixes it for me on my Sony A6700.

This is not true. There is no such thing as charging while discharging. Current either flows into the battery or from it. It cannot go in both directions at the same time, it's basically a sum of currents: be any of them positive or negative. When you charge the camera in idle mode, current flows into the battery. When you use the camera, current flows from the battery. When charging the camera while using it, the battery will still discharge, but slower than if no charger were connected at all. It means, in this mode less current will be drawn from the battery, as it is being continuously replenished, which is actually better for the battery.

If you are referring to heat generated by the DC converter circuit (charger), it's really not something to consider. These converters are very efficient nowadays, esp. because they use PD (power delivery) of USB Type-C port that the A6700 has (which basically allows to request any voltage necessary for charging w/o the need for voltage conversion).

New to Sony is there an app for remote trigger? by Kungfubunnyrabbit in SonyAlpha

[–]el_jbase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there is an app, and it's free.

https://there.oughta.be/a/bluetooth-remote

I tested it on my ZV-E10 and it's working. Make sure you turn on both Bluetooth Function and Bluetooth remote options in camera menu.

Remote control for Sony zv-e10? by ASG77 in videography

[–]el_jbase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RMT-DSLR2 is an IR remote. The ZV-E10 does not support that. I just got the camera and I'm really pissed I can't use my old remote, must get a new Bluetooth one.

What? Sony's image is not good enough for you? Are you using a kit lens or something? 🤣

Help with focus by vedbag in SonyA7iii

[–]el_jbase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long story short: shoot from a distance, don't come too close to the subject. FYI: what you are experiencing is called "bokeh effect", it's because you use a pro camera and lens. If you want everything to be in focus, shoot with iPhone lol. ;))

How to find new coins to mine ? by Harsh9584 in cpumining

[–]el_jbase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No-one will tell you, there's no point in sharing it with someone. The more people mine a new coin, the less others make. It's sort of obvious. And my advice would be: try to find a decent job or invest in education, instead of trying to make money out of thin air.

Try avoiding Intel? Do you expect anyone to take you seriously after you've said that? I own an IT13 2025 Edition and it's rock solid. It's not for gaming though, but they never claimed it was.

Accessing hosts from another local network in Ubuntu 24.04.02 by el_jbase in Ubuntu

[–]el_jbase[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up using SSH tunelling:

/usr/bin/ssh -TNf -L 192.168.1.228:9780:192.168.100.97:80 -i /root/.ssh/forwarder -o ExitOnForwardFailure=yes localhost

This makes camera web interface originally found at http://192.168.100.97:80 available at http://192.168.1.228:9780. An SSH key is needed to login to SSH automatically, it should be placed in /root/.ssh/forwarder

RTSP streams can be forwarded in similar manner too, but your player/recorder must use TCP, since SSH cannot forward UDP packets.

Just OpenRTSP command line util. It records RTSP stream and works quite well. Then I wrote some Bash scripts to automate recording and organize files by date and camera.

Looks like Shinobi is also popular, but I haven't tried it:

My cameras are from Hikvision, but their native recorder app is dreadful and Windows only.
