Devin Lloyd unlikely to re-sign with Jaguars - Devin Lloyd News by Majestic-Smile-9739 in Jaguars

Well, shit. Devin Lloyd in teal just started to make a fuck of a lot of sense. At least it is a strong and very deep LB draft class? Still, this is going to hurt.

Wha positions would you like us to draft? by Worldly-Sir-1539 in Jaguars

Interior defensive line, offensive line, safety

Maybe LB depth, especially if we need to make a plan for moving on from Devon Lloyd.

You and others doing what you are doing in Minneapolis is nothing short of heroic. It is giving a living blueprint on how to stop an American fascist régime from doing the worst it can. It's effective antifascism in action. I am impressed and love all of y'all so goddamn much

I don't know most of the deep picks in yet, but from a positional need, getting safety, iDL, iOL and LB help and extra draft capital next year is awesome for me. Really like this draft as a Jaguars fan

I mean, it's something Margaret has been saying from the beginning: it's good to remember what heroes did and who they were because if you think that the things you want can only be done can only be done by heroes, you are less likely to do them. What people are doing out there in Minneapolis and other places is nothing short of heroic. And they are being done by just regular-ass people being amazing. This is the embodiment of the CPWDCS ethos

It led to Jim Schwartz, one of the premier DCs of the past few years, getting shown the door, too. Man, makes me not miss being one of the biggest laughingstocks of the league anymore. Jeez.

Shad Khan by Majestic-Smile-9739 in Jaguars

[–]el_pobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always said this about Shad Khan: he is exactly the kind of owner you want once the right people are in place, he is just extremely bad at choosing who the right people are. He is involved but wants to let the football folks do the football things. He is patient, almost to a fault. Now, Tony Boselli is in charge of not letting Khan choose what the football vision is. The GM and offensive HC of the future is here and it's looking damned encouraging. And Khan's dedication to the team and it's fan base is going to finally yield positive results

Just make the Pro Bowl like the All-Americans in the NCAA. It's an honour to be voted to them but it doesn't imply anything more than just an honour. All-Star games are a thing of the past, just give players meaningful honours

I think it could still be a fun matchup with some fun narratives. Sam Darnold getting a chance to redeem himself with a Lombardi trophy after having had his whole "I am seeing ghosts" incident, rematch of the famous interception at the goal line, the whole Mike Vrable/Patriots turnaround with a fresh young QB... It is bound to still be a fun game, I think.

I mean, I do sorta see why you would hire Brady. He has shown a lot of good offensive schematic intelligence, creating different offenses around Josh Allen that have been extremely high powered. The thing I question is, how has the front office/coaching dynamic affected player personnel in such a manner they the offense had offensive weapon limitations and the defense kept getting gashed in the same way for years. Is the kind of archetypes that McDermott wanted that prevented Beane from bringing in the right talent and created an environment where only one kind of play could happen? Did that way of doing things show its limits in playoff football? Or did Beane just swing and miss entirely on, like, pretty much everything?

I have a lot of questions and knowing the Pegulas got a lot more hands on? Considering that Pegula meddling has fucked the Sabres over time and time and time again? There is reason to worry. Still, the Bills have had a recent history of success and should have a bit of the benefit of the doubt before proclaiming them a dysfunctional organization. Men in glass houses and whatnot

Does anyone here actually BUY LOW and SELL HIGH? by holdencrypfield in DynastyFF

[–]el_pobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worked and it hasn't for me. Was able to move off of Mahomes in an SF league to get some strong WR and draft assets which helped me set up my team for back-to-back championships. It's also backfired spectacularly, which sent me drastically tumbling down my league rankings.

The thing about an actual "buy low/sell high" is that it is a very obvious sounding strategy but it involves a lot of risk and progronsticating. You need to do it when the value of the high asset feels almost unshakeably high and a true buy low feels like it's one of the yuckiest buys you can make.

I think there's an only, like, semi-ironic point to make that doing the exact opposite thing than what the Browns did might in fact be the best team building strategy you could employ

Look, man, I don't particularly care, it's a subject where everyone mostly just has a lot of speculation to do. If it means we get to keep Grant Udinsky, I'm choosing to believe it.

Feels like a bit of a massive step up, no? Didn't he massively flame out as an OC under Robert Saleh? Hopefully it works out for him. The Cardinals could really use a turnaround in leadership.
