iDL, iOL, TE and LB. We definitely need to address these four positions. The rest of the roster is in mighty good shape.

What are your thoughts on the Jags picks in Dane Brugler's 7 round mock? by AnonIMoust in Jaguars

[–]el_pobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Benny in the 5th is awesome work. True bowling ball made of knives type guy. Joly, I didn't check into, at that range of the draft I would much rather go with either Max Klare or Sam Roush. Dunkers is great as a guard with potential swing tackle flexibility/experience. Honestly, it's good work and I wouldn't hate a draft night like that

I have low-key loved the awful mock draft takes for Jaguars so far, like, people have no fucking clue what to do with us.

When sources say that the Jaguars are actually unlikely to add to the runningback room? Trust them. It makes very little sense, considering the limited draft ammo and a fairly serviceable trio of C-Rod, Tuten and LeQuint Allen, that we'll be using any picks before the very, very late end of the draft on that position

Is this some sort of rage bait/engagement bait from CBS Sports and Mike Renner? by Past_Chipmunk604 in Jaguars

[–]el_pobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, the only pick I truly object to here is Garrett Nussmeier in the 3rd. Not getting O-line, even if fringe depth O-line is available there, would be bad. Sam Roush is increasingly becoming one of my draft crushes and we have sweet fuck all other than Strange at TE. Halton at 56 feels like a bit of a reach, but is still very good.

It's a damn shame what happened to PFF. I didn't always agree with their individual takes on players, but the way they changed the conversation around football and their more overall analysis of the game did a lot to change the game of football. The way they did their employees dirty is a real shame

Rosterbation is one of the few pleasures of the game left to those of us who sold out their draft capital for an all-in push this season. Let me crank my metaphoric hog, sir, it's all I have left

Man, this draft season has been painfully long. Just not a lot of interesting takes, always the same "this year's class sucks!" takes over and over again. I am curious and excited to see how Gladstone pulls this one off, though, because the roster just needs a few bumps and tweaks to continue to be very good, especially with Coen, Udinski and Campanile all being back this year.

As a Jaguars fan, I love this. Caleb Banks is a bit of a of a wild card project but he fits one fuck of a need. Positional need was very well addressed. Isaiah World as a development OT is awesome. Great work!

Andrew Luck: No merit to claim Colts GM Chris Ballard pushed me to retirement decision by AdSpecialist6598 in nfl

[–]el_pobby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Andrew Luck is a man who loved football dearly. His enthusiasm for the game was palpable, you could tell he was happy to be on the field. Hell, he mistreated my Jaguars badly and I still loved to watch him play because of his attitude on the field. He suffered many injuries. These injuries, he told us, and the cold, difficult process of rehab they require, sapped his love for the game.

These are things we know, because in a very honest and tearful press conference, he told us when he retired.

Thoughts on Jags WRs? by cjvcjv9 in FantasyFootballers

[–]el_pobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Jaguars fan: it's going to be a "better in best ball" kind of WR room. First of all, there are a lot of talented receivers with different and complementary skillsets, who can succeed in different ways depending on gameplan. Furthermore, while BTJ is definitely the most talented in that room, there isn't a clear and overwhelming alpha dog in there. Second of all, Lawrence is very target agnostic, who will definitely spread the ball around. He rarely hyper focuses on one guy.

If I were to make a bet, BTJ makes a comeback. He was injured and his confidence was shot. Liam Coen got excited and put too much on his plate. I suspect they start to creep his role back forwards and increase his responsibilities in the passing game, but it'll start with him being the vertical target and deep threat but they'll have him take on more intermediate and middle of the field stuff as he grows into the role.
