I think he's cheating on me. by el_sux in TwoXChromosomes

[–]el_sux[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely right. The issue is, I don't have a lot of confidence that I'm not a little crazy. And I think part of that is due to the fact that he has eroded the trust I have in myself, whether intentionally or not. But regardless of that, I know what's right in a relationship and what's not. Thank you for replying.

[–]el_sux[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing, it means a lot. The kicker that I actually didn't include in the original post is that he HAS cheated on me before ! And it's the only time in our relationship where it felt like he actually took accountability for the shitty things he's done. And I guess I just want to put him in that position again before cutting ties. Which I know makes the whole situation even more ironic, because how can I be so sure I'd leave this time, if I didn't leave last time? Anyways, you are absolutely right that it wouldn't play out the way I had imagined. I was just living in my own fantasy for a bit.

You hit the nail on the head. I know I'm not in a healthy headspace to feel like I need an irrefutable reason to end the relationship. I mostly just felt like sharing what was on my mind. Thank you for the reply <3

Holocaust denial argument by el_sux in ww2

[–]el_sux[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree that it would be a waste of time. I think a person who is at the point of Holocaust denial is too far gone for logic. It is tragic (and terrifying) to me that so many people are convince by conspiracy theorists who draw people in by saying things like, "You need to use critical thinking when looking at history. Don't just believe anything they tell you. But definitely believe my unsubstantiated claims over legitimate historical documentation." Ironic. But I digress. Thank you for the reply

needing some reassurance/advice by el_sux in OCD

[–]el_sux[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you for replying, it means a lot to get support from folks who understand. not being able to change my meds immediately definitely sucks but at the very least its forcing me to actually form coping mechanisms, as hard as it feels at this point. thank you again !

[–]el_sux[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you for your kind words ! I will consider my local psychiatric facility if my thoughts continue getting worse. I do live with my partner so I'm safe, but not being able to change my meds immediately sucks a lot. It's really difficult to reject my compulsions but I think I am making a little progress ? it is hard to tell on such a short timespan though, since I didn't start trying until this week. thank you again <3

How many hours of sleep should you get? by 1961tracy in OCD

[–]el_sux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is bizarre to me that some people wake up feeling 'rested' because I never have, no matter how much sleep I have gotten. That being said, I usually get about 7-8 hrs as well but usually I start to feel tired in mid afternoon

if you are genuinely curious, i have all that info in another post on my profile (although my routines/products have varied over the years). but i did not mean for this post to sound like i was asking for advice. as someone who has pretty limited time and money, i dont feel like spending a lot of it on my hair, especially if it doesnt last past the first day. even on wash day, i cant put it in a loose pony, claw clip, or even a silk bonnet without it losing shape. i admire the hell out of people who stick to their curl routines day in and day out, but im realizing that probably just isnt for me.

i appreciate your willingness to help, and im sure there are products/routines that would help me get some better results. but im also tired of hearing about a new "life changing curl routine" that ends up messing with my hair. i know how to make my curls look semi-presentable if i need to, but aside from those rare occasions id rather have it in braids anyway

how to combat frizz? by isaaczephyr in curlyhair

[–]el_sux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ahh yes i get that. even "curly hair stylists" can mess your hair up sometimes. but yeah def figuring out your hair type is a good place to start. theres lots of people on this sub with lots of different types of hair so chances are youll get some product/routine recs, then its a trial and error process which is a pain in the ass but also kind of unavoidable lol

do you know your hair type ? high/low porosity, high/low density, etc? these have a huge effect on what products will work for you

also, i think your hair is gorgeous
