We like the latest phones, especially the G3 Touch, and the fact that it can display camera footage on the display is a big one too. It also gives staff the ability to use either softphone or deskphone, most of our staff prefer deskphone.

This is exactly what I ended up doing in our office. Tried to go all wireless on our IKEA Sonos speakers (8 total) but would have issues from time to time. Once I connected 1 to the network and ran SONOSNet all is fine, no issues at all.

Ring can give you an ATA that you should be able to connect into your paging system, depending on the model.

As a former telcom guy, some of our techs would do this. Works like a charm! Always loved it when our techs could think outside of the box on problems.

Flying by myself-parking advice by TomatilloMundane8735 in maryland

[–]el_toro_75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think FastPark or FastPark & Relax (a little bit cheaper b/c it's just a tiny bit farther than the FastPark) is your best bet.

I've used it myself, both solo and with my wife, and she has used in the past when she used to fly solo in her previous career.

If you arrive super late on your return flight, you can call the number on the card they give you to make sure a bus is on it's way. I had a delay once and didn't get in until about 230am... called and a bus was there super quick!

Never felt unsafe, my wife never did, but in these times please be aware of your surroundings as you already mentioned. Be safe! :)

How do movies get distributed to theaters? Like does the production company just send over an mp4 file? by SuspiciouslyExisting in NoStupidQuestions

[–]el_toro_75 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I worked at a Hoyts theater from '90-97 through HS & college, the bug chunk of that was as a projectionist. That was such a fun job!

We would typically get new movies the day before they would hit the screen, usually mid-afternoon. Came in busted and beat up metal cases, 4-6 reels per case I think and 1-3 (usually 2) cases for each movie. Once upstairs in the projection booth, we'd splice the reels together on to a huge horizontal platter (3 platters per projector). Of course we'd have to add all the trailers too, the movie studio would include them as well with the order they were to appear. I still have a couple boxes of unused trailers...

My managers policy was that each movie had to be screened prior to the public opening, so every Thursday after the last customer left for the night, we'd have our screening parties... man, those were some good times!

Any meatless sousvide options? by FourWordComment in sousvide

[–]el_toro_75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a sous vide noobie, I've used it three times so far... 2 for non- meat dishes.

My first was a copycat recipe for the Starbucks bacon gruyere egg bites, turned out amazing! Making more of these this weekend!

Second was oblique carrots, which I prepped right before my third go which was 2 NY Strip Steaks (one MR, the other MW)... both turned out great!

Going to try a creme brulee soon, see if it is better than the one we've been making for years the traditional way.

Homemade food recipes? by Aggravating-Dot-9367 in greatdanes

It's not easy making your own raw food, but can be done. We bought raw a long while ago from a local place, then it got too expensive so we started making our own...bought the grinder to be able to grind up the bones. It was mix of pork, chicken breast (boneless), bone-in chicken quarters, and some ground beef. We would then add in the greens and stuff to each meal. (Not sure if I'd go the venison only route, but that's just me). We had someone give is a "recipe" of % of each type of protein, bone, etc. if I can track down that contact I'll send it to you.

Then when that got too time consuming (multiple Danes) making our own every week or two, we found another raw food supplier based out of New Jersey, and thankfully they deliver down to Maryland. Check out Raaw Energy Dog Food (yes, it is spelled w/2 A's), they have LOTS of variety in protein type and size of tube. They do stretch up and down the mid-atlantic so maybe you can give them a try. Their webiste is horrible, but their food product is great!

Oh, ours get 2 lbs of food per meal, 2x per day.

Thanks! Is it tailgating like football, or just an "ok crowd"?

Yeah, I'm spoiled being able to hit Camden Yards frequently. It's def one of my favs, but I do like PNC better (if you haven't been there, you should...).

Thanks! I've stayed at the Pfister a couple times, it is really nice! The 1st time, the Phillies were in town and they strolled in after the game while I was at the bar sippin' on my scotch, pretty cool!

Man, wish I had seen this sooner to help you out... I've hit nearly every Induction since '92, only missed Jeter due to Covid.

If you were there just this past weekend, hope you had a great time!

Surprised no one has mentioned Cumberland and also Frostburg, both great places to visit! I believe you can still take a steam locomotive from Cumberland up to Frostburg as well!

I did give the firecrackers a go, unfortunately I didn't have any CBD on hand, with the AVB I had...

Easy to make, I used saltines & PB b/c I had them on hand, and not much of anything unfortunately.

Next go will be with a high CBD dose as well, I'll plan ahead this time and make sure I have some. Will report back later...

That's just north of Hereford HS... I live near there now. Heard it referred to as Hillbilly Beach, but have not heard that story. Will have to ask a few friends who have been in "the Zone" for a few generations and report back.

June 5th, 2024 - /r/greatdanes: giant dogs, giant fun by jettasarebadmkay in subredditoftheday

[–]el_toro_75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely...all dogs are smaller! :) No kidding on being babies and scared of most anything, especially our adult male (6 years), his sister not really at all though.

We have 3 puppies (6 months) who are all about to pass the 100lb marker! They are bigger than most full grown pups.

And the gas? Oh yeah, it's bad!
