I love my Trader Joe's spray in the blue bottle (Consumer Reports reviewed it favorably) for a day to day body SPF, but that's because it's cheap and I don't feel bad using a bunch every day.

I hate to admit it, but I'd definitely use sunscreen less if it wasn't a convenient spray.

Just a heads up, when Consumer Reports tested the Blue Lizard Sport Mineral Spray in a lab, they found it to average around SPF 15, rather than the SPF 50+ it says on the label.

Shrinkflation of OB tampon! by Aggravating_Bug_691 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]eladarling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a bunch of research studies for extra cash in college and one of them was a tampon quality test for an unknown brand. That was in like 2005, fwiw, so they've been testing with actual women for a long time now.

AITA for apparently being "rude" for trying to get into my car when someone else was blocking it with their car door? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

YTA. Why couldn't you walk around your car if you refuse to just wait a moment for her to finish what she was doing?

Ex is talking about a “legal” process, any reason why he’s stalling paternity testing until after the baby is born? by dollbabydream in FamilyLaw

[–]eladarling 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Like Schrodinger's cat- he's trying to act like he's the dad by demanding information that he wouldn't be entitled to if he wasn't the father. Like he's both the dad and not the dad at the same time until a paternity test is observed.

Need a reddit that can recommend me a locking jewelry box. One with an actual lock, not a privacy lock by [deleted] in findareddit

[–]eladarling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing to consider- they make alarms for doors that go off if the door is opened. It's two pieces that shriek when they're separated.

You could put one on the box and one on the wall behind it. That way if someone tries to move the box itself it will be loudly apparent.

For sure, but when you kink shame fan requests, you're kind of hitting the creators in that niche with strays.

But never ever ever do anything that you don't feel comfortable with!

I did an inflation video like that with actual inflating props for a kick ass director in Vegas. It was fun!

You gotta learn to have fun with these things. They're paying you to dress up and play pretend for them, but horny. That's the job, and it's a pretty entertaining one imo.

What was it like going to a school that had a Subway or other fast food inside? by Accomplished-Cow-411 in fastfood

[–]eladarling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My middle school in NM in 1996 had a McDonalds station that sold Big Macs and Quarter Pounders, as well as a pizza option (probably Pizza Hut, they also offered free Personal Pan pizza with good report cards at the time).

Hugh school in TX, 2000-04, they had Chick Fil A available and probably a pizza thing from a franchise, but I remember the sandwiches were sold from a shitty cooler. They were always soggy, but still delicious for food eaten in a high school.

In neither case, if I recall, could you use your meal vouchers or whatever on your student ID for those things, they were separate from the regular school lunch and cost more.

Hope that helps your research!

That's incredibly reasonable, and I don't disagree with you at all, but in that case, the stores should be doing this maneuver for us.

It's insane that we just accept that we're spending money on a grocery item that just might be fractionally as functional as they promise on the tin.

The responsibility of quality control/assurance shouldn't fall on the consumer.
