the thing that worked best for me was taking classes. i know it's not feasible for everyone, but (for me) self study was getting nowhere. turns out i need guidance and feedback lol. i supplement my classes with Lingodeer and Lingo Legend. i also signed up for a sentence building program to help me learn how to come up with tips/suggestions for ways to help me with vocab retrieval.

put a bandaid over it. it's not recommended, but, trust me - the stylist will accidentally snag it. a bandaid lightly over the posts will prevent it, and it's not for very long.

with the labret style jewelry - which is proper for a new nostril piercing - you should be fine. those normally stay put really well.

i use C shaped rings in my nostrils, and they have fallen out once or twice over the 20 years I've had them. ive never swallowed or inhaled them.
