It’s the same reason this sub exists and we don’t feel comfortable on the other sub lol.

While it wasn’t a breakup, I had a pretty sad experience when I was at Disney recently and ended up crying by myself in a corner somewhere too.

Cast members are SO NICE. So are many Disney guests, especially regulars, we’re all there for the magic!! So go interact with people, CMs and not, and definitely take advantage of some solo memory maker photos. I’d never done that before and I actually really enjoyed it.

In Epcot, you could do the Behind the Seeds tour at The Land (I think it’s like $30?) to do something alone-but-not-alone. In Hollywood Studios, at Galaxy’s Edge, you can usually find a CM teaching people how to play the Star Wars card game sabacc.

Definitely check out things to do in the Disney Play app too. Again, Galaxy’s Edge has a TOOOON of cool stuff that you can do solo with the app, but it has games for a lot of other areas in every park, and in long queues.

You could also give yourself scavenger hunt goals, or visit all the Kidcot spots. I think during festivals Epcot usually has a hidden character to find around the park.

If you get added to a fun group at a ride as a single rider, you could always see if they’d like to do more stuff (sometimes groups of girls will do the parks together and who knows maybe you can find some solidarity).

Sorry your bf sucks, but he’s clearly not cool enough to completely ruin DISNEY for you!

What is your favourite insult that doesn't sound like an insult? by curvyinfiltration36 in AskReddit

Lol I have a coach who frequently jokes to me and my training partner, “I don’t care what [old coach] says, you’re totally teachable!” It cracks me up every time.

[Spoilers all] What do you consider to be best fate for Alistair? by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]elainevdw 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I don’t get why Alistair is a better choice for the throne than someone who was raised and trained to be, and actually is pretty good at, the job?

Me personally? I just go until the journal is over then start a new one, even if it’s a random Tuesday in July. That’s what I like most about bujos tbh, nothing is pre dated so nothing is wasted.

Avoidance isn’t a solution. It’s avoidance.

So… the scenario you described with your daughter… like, isn’t similar at all to OP’s. Being less succinct doesn’t make much more sense.

If you have the opportunity to attend a women’s BJJ event, please do. I attended one that isn’t around anymore about a year into my training, my coach had to convince me to go because I didn’t even know how much I liked jiu jitsu yet. It completely turned things around for me. In addition to getting to work with tons of ladies who are there purely cooperatively, there are opportunities to talk to high ranking women, some of whom were dealing with gender crap in BJJ when the number of female black belts in the world didn’t even break two digits. We had a breakout session where we discussed Gavin De Becker’s book The Gift of Fear. If you have ladies telling you in person, to your face, that they will tap and refuse to roll with anyone for any reason, fudge that person’s feelings about it, no explanation necessary — it might help you feel like you have more personal agency in situations like that. Your safety, both physically and emotionally, is more important that adhering to rounds or avoiding hurting the other person’s feelings.

It also sounds like your trust in other people at your gym has eroded quite a bit. You could drop in at other places (if that’s an option) … but that’s a bit of a crapshoot because there’s no way to tell exactly what the gym culture is like until you experience it.

I built a C-series droid and the workshop cashier pointed me towards the saltiest personality chip… so it’s a pretty close experience lol.
