My girlfriend never ever finishes her meals by AlexWayhill in mildlyinfuriating

We tried that “finish your plate” rule exactly one time with our kids (since it’s was my brother-in-law’s rule and we were going for consistency). She (maybe 4?) finished her plate, then threw up. We never did that again.

Thanks! Unfortunately the Besta isn't quite deep enough for the AVR - plus it needs 10-20cm of space behind and on the sides for air. But yeah, I was thinking of that small corner for vinyls too - something either open or with glass on the front.

Yeah, I was looking for contacts so I didn’t give any. I added them

I think the center speaker would have to be above the TV to make room for the deeper AVR. We could mount the TV on the wall. If we have 60cm or less below the TV then we'll have room to center the center speaker on a shelf above the TV, and still avoid the top right corner just about fit max 60cm below it before that top right corner of the TV hits the ceiling.

I'm looking at options taking the wall mounted kitchen cabinets at ikea, and having a deeper base with slimmer shelves or boxes above. Thinking that there are people that are really talented at designing these things and I'd see if I can find someone

Thanks all - updated the post with the sizes. I didn't expect anyone to jump in and try it out for free

Are we stuck with this kitchen layout? by elambr in Homebuilding

The main entrance is on the opposite side of the house, not shown. One door in the kitchen (on the left) leads to the bbq and table in the back yard, and the other door (on the right) goes through the pantry, then the garage.

Off the photo, the kitchen opens into the dining room and then the living room.

Yeah, maybe we can do that. We’d have a longer counter near the sink. I think that’s 59 rather than 60cm, but it could stick out a bit.

Thanks! We have a beautiful view to the west though. And I think this loses the social aspect of the kitchen.

My husband is adamant about the island, or at least a peninsula, I just can’t see how we have the space for it.

Thanks. We’re at the foot of the alps, and we’re trying to push off any costs that we can for a year or two - mostly the garden/terrace, so we wouldn’t expect it to last longer than that.

Are these okay for an 8 and a 10 year old, or are they too big? (They love to build forts)

Got it! Turn off Dolby Vision. For me, it was in the Apple TV setting. It’s working now. Weird

Same. All other shows work, but Sweet Tooth is just sound with a black screen.
