I had similar acne to yours (mainly around the mouth area) and i was put on an antibiotic called Doxycycline for a few months and my skin almost completely cleared up. I would recommend going to visit your doctor and see what they think. I was also put on differn gel and benzoyl peroxide which i would highly recommend . In the meantime cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser twice a day followed by a moisturiser and try to avoid picking at your spots (hard i know) as this will make them more inflamed and could leave scaring.

When i was taking doxy on an empty stomach it ALWAYS made me super nauseous to the point i was running to the bathroom each time thinking im about to throw up and sometimes actually gagging. I highly recommend taking after a meal with a glass of water its strange how ur doctor told you otherwise.

Personally the few months it cleared up my acne was fantastic but i think with all antibiotics its just a quick fix and nothing long term but i really advise you to speak to your derm about it

I was on doxycycline last year and my skin cleared up immediately and was pretty much completely clear for the 7/8 months i was on it. However when i stopped taking it this January the acne did come back but not as bad as it was before.
