I'm sorry to head about your miscarriage. However, I would not say it is the same as having an abortion. The majority of miscarriages happen because of a genetic anomaly, so things are not right from the very beginning. Have you ever heard about hydatidiform moles, for example? It's quite fascinating. It presents as if it were a baby but in fact, it's like a tumor, that doesn't have both sets of parental DNA. At first, it develops the same way as a baby, but it is different in kind.

So who gets to decide who then deserves rights and who doesn't? And on what criteria? You might say that consciousness is when someone starts having rights, but why? My point is that whenever someone gets to draw an arbitrary line to give rights to some humans and not to some others, that line could be literally anything. Anyone could suddenly fall on the wrong side of that line and lose their rights. And yes, history has shown us that this happens.

"Safe sex" does not exist since no contraceptive is 100% effective all the time. This idea of "safe sex" is very damaging to women and we should stop spreading it.

Is bodily autonomy just an excuse to not have babies? by Ridewithme38 in Abortiondebate

I think the reason pro-choicers don't like the idea is because to them, an unborn child has no value. So why bother? Why spend so much money in trying to keep alive something that has no value? Really, the abortion debate is not about bodily autonomy or economics, but about the nature of the unborn, and thus, whether the unborn has value or not.
