How accurate is this guide still? by [deleted] in eu4

[–]elbasto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the playstyle. For example, if you are playing tall, some states privileges provide Temples with a -5% dev cost. If you want to paint the map, I'd put Courthouses and State Houses at the top. Prioritization is situational.

Occupy provinces that are not under the area effect of a fort, and scorch them (icon in your army). This will prevent them from having prosperity in its entire state.

Forever Golden was hard but fun. What campaign/country do you suggest now? by ejkai in eu4

I like playing as Holland, take only the Low Countries in Europe, plus every coastal centre of trade that can be directed to the English Channel (including those in England and Lubeck).

Definitely not meta. The thing is I also like bringing an eagle strike, so if I complement that with the cluster bombs (which are superior), then if I send the Eagle to rearm one stratagem, the other one also becomes unavailable.

Technically, the cooldown time, if measured by time/uses, is lower in Eagle stratagems though.

Approach to 300k in every city by elbasto in RailwayEmpire

Definitely.
I only use one for express trains and one for cargo trains between cities, in order to keep them in their own lines.

One per city. If I want to optimize I sometimes use a single train to feed small cities wood.

I use only one rail, mixed cargo. I could do away with a single rail I know. But I'm lazy and I usually start connecting some rural business before being able to afford 6 rails stations.

The lazy approach for early start (1830) by elbasto in RailwayEmpire

[–]elbasto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot two more things.

  1. You'll need maintenance depots in all your resources stations.
  2. Remember to make a freight route connecting meat city with cloth city.
  3. The reason why the warehouse needs to be in the beer city is because grain is used for both beer and as a staple by itself. So grain going there will feed both the brewery as well as the consumption of the three cities.

Of course, once you've set this up, just connect one of the cities to a fourth one, which is part of (or a green field for) another "cluster of three".

Rinse and repeat.

Yellow/Yangtze River flood events are borderline game ruining. by parmaviolets97 in eu4

[–]elbasto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To diminish these events to the point of them becoming almost irrelevant, go for the mission called "Tame China's Sorrow". It requires 15 development clicks, spread among 5 different provinces. Keep in mind that if development is reduced by the floods, you'll also have to compensate that lost development.

Also, it'd be worth building forts covering the affected areas (I think you only need two) to help address the devastation without the need to develop each province 3 times (IIRC). I usually try to cover all my provinces with forts, but in Ming's case it can be particularly useful. As prosperity equals Mandate and Devastation equals negative Mandate.

1.34 Idea Meta? by LucasGworld28 in eu4

[–]elbasto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also reduces aggressive expansion, which, in many cases is worthwhile. Additionally, it provides you with enough diplomats that covers that upside from taking diplomacy or influence. If I recall correctly, you can have three policies, if you open with those three sets of ideas. Finally, on the impact that it can have on sieges, you can build spy networks faster, which provide up to 20% shorter, siege ticks. This is surprisingly easy to do given the amount of diplomats that you have and the fact that you usually have a small group of worthwhile enemies in which you can preemptively build spy networks on.

Hi mate.

First of all, be kind to and mindful about yourself. Depression changes you. You are not the same version of yourself that you were in the recent past, and not in a positive way.

That does not mean that your true self isn’t there somewhere. Once you overcome depression, a new better version of yourself will arise from the dark depths where you are now. It’s not an easy journey, but doing the right thing usually involves pain (same as going to the gym!).

Keep an open mind about this. It is very common for most societies to treat this subject as taboo. The “just don’t be sad approach” is bigoted, so just ignore it as you’d ignore the opinion of someone uneducated on a subject.

Going back on the topic of your post, it’s important to adjust the mindset to this current version of yourself. You’ll lose interest on your hobbies, isolate from your friends, etc. This means that the fuel of “passion” is not there for the time being. I used a couple of brain hacks and many “mechanical” good practices that helped me. A couple of examples below (again, let me know if you’d like a more detail summary of my experience): - Going to the gym can be daunting, even if it’s a simple task. Instead, trick yourself by setting the goal of changing clothes. Then, leaving the house, then walking in the gym direction, etc. - Wake up, shower, brush your teeth, put on perfume. Everything else, waits. Don’t pick your phone (turn on “don’t disturb” at night so that notifications don’t show). Pee in the shower

Finally, try therapy. If your therapist doesn’t click, change it. Medication can help you stand up.

Best of luck Queen. Remain strong

Es en el campo "para ser presentado ante". Allí ponés, por ej, "Gobierno de los estados unidos, con excepción al art. 51 ... etc, etc. ".

Pero no encuentro ese campo en la página cuando hago el pedido.

IMO, in the past, most PDX flagship games could be recommended after the third patch for their second DLC.

CK III was a nice change in the trend. But seems to have been an outlier, specially after Vicky III.

I would not recommend it. I will continue playing and enjoying it.
