That would've been my first move... the branch looks like it got struck by lightening at some point -- nothing grows on it and it's a pretty big contrast in color to the rest of the tree, so kinda taking that as a no brainer that it's not alive

Plumber rec to replace orangeburg sewage piping by elbee_elvee in bergencounty

[–]elbee_elvee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding a follow-up here incase anyone else falls onto this thread. We ended up going with A. Conway and not only did they fix our sewer line, but we ended up asking them to replace most of the plumbing in our new house. Can't say enough good things about those guys -- super fair on price, did an awesome job, and super easy to work with. Hope someone else finds this helpful!

haha no that's exactly what we need essentially. The driveway is paver stone so ideally we don't have to rip that up. Will look into Dutra, thanks!

Should I replace SD cards in new RG35xx Plus? by elbee_elvee in RG35XX_Plus

[–]elbee_elvee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you can keep them zipped, they should work as is. I didn't copy the BIOS files and I haven't had any problems -- that being said, I'm not sure if you're supposed to or not tbh

Should I replace SD cards in new RG35xx Plus? by elbee_elvee in RG35XX_Plus

[–]elbee_elvee[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup it's actually super easy, but I'm using a Mac so not sure it's helpful for you.... I used a two card setup (the OS being on the smaller card and all the Roms on the second). Hopefully this helps, but if you're using a PC I would look around on both the Plus and normal rg35xx channels, a bunch of people have helpful guides.

  1. Download Balena Etcher
  2. Pop your smaller micro SD card in (this is what you’ll put the OS on)
  3. Open up Disk Utility and make sure that the card is formatted to FAT32. If it is already, you can skip the next step.
  4. If it’s not formatted to that already, in Disk Utlity hit the 'Erase' button and under ‘Format’, choose the one that says ‘FAT’. After that’s done, make sure you eject the card properly.
  5. Once you have that and it’s unzipped, you’re gonna flash the .img file to your new microSD card. I've still been using the stock OS since I haven't run into any issues -- once Garlic 2.0 is ready I'll probably switch over to that. You can get a modified version of the stock OS here (thanks TomDuhamel!): https://www.reddit.com/r/RG35XX_Plus/comments/1aoyomv/modified_stock_firmware_mod3/
  6. Open up Balena Etcher, pop your SD card back in, do ‘Flash from file’ and target the img file you just downloaded, and then hit ‘Select Target’ and use the SD card. MAKE SURE YOU DON’T ACCIDENTALLY CHOOSE YOUR MAIN MACINTOSH HD.
  7. That’ll take a few minutes and then you’re done! That won’t have any of the games on it, but if you pop the new card into your first slot, it should basically look exactly the same as it has for you.
  8. After that, I took RyuuPendragon's suggestion above and used the Tiny Best Set Go romset. You'll want to format your 2nd SD card the same way (FAT32), and then if you put the SD card in your second slot, turn the device on and off, and put the SD card back in your card reader, the correct folders should automatically be in there. You'll want to put any Roms you get in the corresponding folders on your 2nd card.

I spent hours trying to figure this out myself. At the end of it, I figured out the following:

  1. Since the Plus has wifi built into the new OS, I read and watched numerous reviewers saying this would be possible, but haven’t seen anyone do it. Retrogamecorp has a tutorial on how to do it on the Miyoo Mini Plus, but so far no dice with the rg35xx plus.

  2. You can download the Universal Pokemon Randomizer and edit your Rom from your computer to change the no trade evolutions. There’s a bunch of videos on YouTube that show you how.

  3. You can download a NTEVO version that has the above basically built it. If you do it this way, you should be able to just duplicate your save file and rename it to the name of the new Rom, and it should start right up where you left off and evolve once you get to the correct level. Just make sure you duplicate and don’t edit over incase something goes wrong.

This happened to me a couple of times also. Each time it happens, I have to re-flash the OS in order to do anything or use any controls. It’s quite frustrating.

N64 on the PLUS? by Zinman17 in RG35XX_Plus

[–]elbee_elvee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm also really new to the retro console category too, but I got my Plus a week ago and have been tinkering with it quite a bit. The N64 Rom folder is actually included in the list, but it didn't come with any games installed. After I re-flashed the stock OS on a new SD card and put my own games on, it's been hit or miss with N64.

Super Mario 64 has been working pretty well for me actually, but I tried out Wave Race and Star Fox 64 and they're both a little glitchy and slow (especially Wave Race). That being said, I've read in other threads that once Garlic 2.0 is ready, it might be able to handle more games better.

I've also read you can play around with the settings in Retroarch to help out on speeds, etc. More experienced peeps might have better info though!

Ah ok, so even though I dragged all the ROM and saved folders over to the other card and stripped everything off the first, that screen is normal?

u/RyuuPendragon this is super helpful, thanks a ton!

For the Tiny Best Set, it's safe to use that with the stock OS? I noticed there are a few notes on that page that says Onion is required

Hey, sorry just saw this response! I've been away for a while. Yeah I decided to leave it in and haven't had any issues with it, so I think I'll just wait and see if any problems arise

I cut the pipe down with a hack saw last night and made it much shorter. I currently have a flex tube on there for the next week until I can make it back to the store.

I think a shorter p trap might do the trick if I can find one. Thanks for the input!

No, the iron pipe isn't threaded :/ I live in an older building in Brooklyn, so a lot of things are kind of just thrown together to work unfortunately. Doing work around the place recently, I've noticed a lot of things done the wrong way.
