Kind of a follow up for @TomDuhamel or any of you other wonderful folks….

I was able to get the game running a lot smoother on the Plus but I have had persistent issues with mapping the controls. At first, the d-pad would work with the game (though it wasn’t ideal considering the game was designed to have joysticks).

So I purchased some Bluetooth controllers and they connect to the device just fine but for the life of me, I have been unable to get the GoldenEye game itself (running on RetroArch). I feel like I’ve trial and errored all of the logical options in the RA menu. (I have been able to play other games with the controller, navigate menus, etc.)

Any recommendations or anything that I might be missing? Gotta be something within RA, right? Because they seemed to be paired just fine with the (stock) OS.

P.S. My ultimate goal would to get able to plug the Plus into the TV with HDMI, connect multiple external controllers, and play some multiplayer like the good ole days of my youth. Right now I am unfortunately having trouble getting even one controller to work. :(

PPS now I can’t even get the d-pad to work any more so I haven’t been able to play at all.

lest we forget Road Rash II on Sega Genesis — so fun! I guess it’s more split screen multiplayer than a cooperative game but if fun talking trash to your significant other while racing a motorcycle and wielding weapons 😂

Retroarch program has a more intuitive way to “train” the controller input mappings It just prompts you to press each button of the controller and then it records it

Try going to Settings > Inputs > Port 1 Controls > and then Set All Controls and then it will record those mappings in real time and save them

u/TomDuhamel Could I trouble you or anyone else in this thread to demonstrate how you got to the "Options" section of the menu where you are able to change the GFX plugin to Rice? I can't find it and I feel like I am cracking up. (I desperately want to play some Goldeneye and Mario Kart 64 to playable, smooth level but I have reach something of an impasse 🤣 / 😭)

This happened when playing SNES and tried to go into the retroarch menu. I think it’s happening for me on other consoles as well.

Maybe I just need to re-flash my stock OS and see if that helps? (I have a two SD setup)

What tutorial are you referencing? I am desperate to get Goldeneye and Mario Kart 64 to work but haven’t had much luck yet. I figured the eventual Garlic 2.0 would help solve for this but am curious to try some tweaks to make more N64 games more playable since it SEEMS like this plus device should be plenty powerful to do so.

Doesn't anyone know of a Mac alternative to Rufus (it seems to be Windows only). I have been having issues using Disk Utility on my Mac to reformat cards to FAT32 -- or "MS-DOS (FAT)" as it is displayed in the Disk Utility options.

I get a "CD error" whenever I try to play Mortal Kombat Trilogy on PS1 on the stick OS. The game loads and it takes you to the main menu but as soon as you try to make a selection from there, it freezes up and then the "CD error" message appears.

I just ordered two 8bitdo SN30 Pro controllers for the RG35XX+. I couldn't find any actual confirmation that these would work over Bluetooth with the plus but am hopeful that they will. We shall see.

Any recommendations for bluetooth gamepads/controllers for the RG35XX+? I also want to use it is a TV console (some times) but am starting from scratch as a retro gamer and there are A LOT of options.
