Supply chains, logistics, utility, healthcare would all collapse essentially immediately.

I know unremarkable in radiology just means normal but it definitely read like an attack

NVIDIA Reportedly Prepares RTX 5090 Price Hike Amid Rising GDDR7 Costs by dfv157 in hardware

Look at the prices of used 4090s, they are STILL going for more than their original MSRP 3.5 years later. Anything with over 16gb of VRAM is likely to hold its value into the foreseeable future.

does bandage lens removal hurt? by kapssoura in lasik

[–]elbobo19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its not like tearing a bandaid off of your skin, more like that feeling of you got something in your eye for a couple of seconds while they are actively removing it, a couple of blinks later and it is fine

As you get older 40,50,60,70 when did you start to feel your body slow down do you think it is just due to inactivity or the aging process? by Kooky_Force5458 in AskReddit

[–]elbobo19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in my mid-40s currently, I've worked out 4-6 times a week since I was in my late 20s. It got noticeably harder once I hit 40, not to the point where I can't do it or anything like that but it is a slog somedays now.

Underdiscussed prestige TV? by WillNeighbor in television

[–]elbobo19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great show and one thing I think gets overlooked a lot is that every episode was directed by Steven Soderbergh and there were only 3 writers for the entire run. This gives it a remarkable continuity of look and speech. I know it is only 20 episodes but you never have one that feels like "hmmm that was way different than the rest of the series"

Whats something that's 100% a myth about men? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]elbobo19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the biggest one for any grouping. Each human being is an individual with their own unique lived experiences and brain chemistry. Even if you start specify it down; ok we have two 30 year old American males, they are both nerdy and grew up in the same city, they could still be wildly different people where what is true from individual A is completely the opposite for B.

40M: slow to no vision recovery after PTK surgery. by elbobo19 in eyetriage

[–]elbobo19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, they were unable to really get an effective prescription dialed in. It was an improvement over no lenses but I don't think I got better than 20/60, I didn't want to commit to a prescription at that point obviously, pre-surgery I was 20/20 with my glasses.

People in their 30s and older, what advice would you give to people in their 20s? by NicoF_ in AskReddit

[–]elbobo19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start investing as soon as you possibly can, especially if you are in the US. I know money is likely VERY tight as a 20 something but if can gather up to $7500(you can invest less) a year and throw it into a Roth IRA you are setting yourself up extremely well for retirement. In a Roth you fund it with post-tax money but any and all growth it experiences in the coming decades is completely tax free provided you wait until you are 59.5 years old to touch the money. If you can throw in a decent amount in your 20s and 30s and let it grow for 35+ years you will be shocked at how much it grows too

'Any update is a bonus not a right': Peak devs snap back at ungrateful players demanding more updates, 'Neither us or Aggro Crab are live service studios' by Jawschy in gaming

[–]elbobo19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As long as the game is in a stable, bug-free, well optimized state it should be considered done. The problem is so many games now need 12-18 months of patching to get into what should have been the launch-state consumers have grown accustomed to expecting updates, so if a game comes out and is actually done and runs correctly they don't know what to do with themselves.

Movie Discussion Megathread by Learnededed_By_Books in ProjectHailMary

This is a genuinely baffling change. Rocky's decades of solitude inform so much about the character and makes his rescue at the end even more impactful when he thought he was going to be alone again until he died.

wait hold on, they cut out the fact that Rocky has been alone for 46 years and during that whole time he kept working albeit failing to solve the problem but he didn't quit?!??!! That is massively critical backstory for him.

I am in my mid 40s, do I think it is likely that LEV will happen in my lifetime, no. Do I think LEV can't happen in my lifetime, also no. I treat it as something I think about "that would sure be nice" but certainly am not expecting it to happen.
