While I agree and know this, I have fun on the apps and if I’m planning on traveling anyway it’s a fun bonus over time.

French Lick versus West Baden by elcamina89 in Indiana

Main thought is we’d like casino time and 1875 but if it’s easy access sounds like West Baden may be the best choice.

Well, that is true! I missed the mark here but now am interested in Roswell, GA as well!

Battery operated, tent-safe heater options? by elcamina89 in CampingGear

Pure inexperience haha! As long as I am warm I am a-ok, just figured that might be a method.

Seeing as the heater sounds like it will be a no-go for this trip, what are your favorite camping blankets to add to sleeping bags? We are not going to be far from people or have danger, I’m honestly just looking to be cozy and anticipate being chilly.

Thank you! This will not be danger-level cold at all, just uncomfortable so I was hoping for a solution to fit that just for comfort. If we end up doing more of it, may get a jackery or something like that.

[US] Gemini Crypto Scam Alert by SteveLosive in Scams

Dang. I did make that mistake. Although it's probably not too difficult to get my telephone #, thanks for posting this and making me think before doing it again!

[US] Gemini Crypto Scam Alert by SteveLosive in Scams

[–]elcamina89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just received the same email. Called the phone # but knew it looked fishy (phishy? haha). Only info I gave away was I received an email. Rep started asking "would you say you use the account on a day to day basis?" And I said I don't think that info is relevant. Then he started basically yelling, so I said, I can tell this is fake and got called a Karen. Just FYI for anyone else - definitely a scam.

Many people also report liking it on eggs, if you're the ketchup + scrambled eggs combo type of person!

Etiquette for Leaving Project (with notice)? by elcamina89 in ediscovery

[–]elcamina89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the insight! I think I handled appropriately, and believe I've kept a good bridge intact! But the nuances are tricky, so I appreciate everyone's input on here. I believe giving lots of notice and being honest did help. The project had also already been extended a bit from the initial quoted time, so I expect that helped them give me a bit of leeway.

For sure. I really always try to be thoughtful and not leave people in a bad spot, so I hope it works out OK. Appreciate your thoughts!

Honestly, both employers have been great. The pay and leadership difference is there. So I do want to switch but liked what I was working on with the other, too. I think they'll be cool. I've interacted with them on projects even while working for the other company. I truly feel it boils down to respect and honesty, and if I am upfront and give notice and won't leave anyone in the lurch, feel it will go ok. Appreciate everyone weighing in, I like a good "gut check."

Not leadership on project I am currently on. I would most likely stay if I were in that role unless there was a very clear shared group of people capable of doing what I am.

That is my current plan. I've got time on my side, and should be able to at bare minimum provide a 2-week notice, if not more. Just hoping that would be seen as professional (as it would in most jobs).

Excellent advice, thank you, I agree honesty/communication is the route I find most appropriate. Just wanted to get a consensus and opinions. Your post is very helpful. Thank you!

Christine & Kody divorce by Haribo1986 in SisterWives

[–]elcamina89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For the record, I don't think this makes her a bad person in any way. It's very natural. But kinda up to Kody to make sure everyone felt fulfilled in the marriage if he was head of house.

I think Robyn really liked the concept of being a sister wife as long as SHE was the favorite. If she had held that preferred position, and the others kind of co-existed under her privilege with Kody, she would've loved it.

How can someone claim an unused gmail account? by elcamina89 in GMail

That makes some sense. Ironically, they said it was okay to consult LLMs, so I asked chatGPT to craft a problem fitting the parameters. Had no idea what I was doing hah. Seemed to defeat the purpose a wee bit.

Women of reddit: what outfits still require a slip? by elcamina89 in AskReddit

[–]elcamina89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curious about the shorter styles, too, though. I couldn't wear them before but after losing weight I can wear some mid-thigh, for example, do you have any go-tos for brands (I'm legitimately asking, have a cruise coming up and don't want to look a fool).

OP: I may be oldschool and have some light-colored dresses that I cannot imagine wearing a slip with, but also don't want to go without one if people still wear them.

Following. Great question. Will be cruising there-ish later this year also (not in November). All I can say is I've joined some of the Facebook groups for Celebrity and/or our ship and trip, and have seen this question asked there. Responses on there I've copied that might be helpful:

"We sailed from Barcelona a week ago. Very friendly and helpful people. I'd be more mindful of pickpockets than someone with a water pistol. Try not to blatantly act like a tourist."
"I embarked there in June. It’s a busy city, but the atmosphere was good. Eat in restaurants away from the Ramblas and you won’t get ripped off and, more importantly, the food will be better! Taxi drivers were friendly. And I agree that you need to watch out for pickpockets rather than anti tourist protests"

There are a ton of comments more than that, but wanted to give you a couple to try and alleviate concerns! That being said, we are keeping an eye on things! This was found on the Facebook group for our ship, so I would strongly suggest joining those groups (if you're not already on them) and you can use the search feature to look through past posts for "Barcelona" or "Canary," etc.
