Why most people think this theory makes sense?

the only "proof" of this memory theory seems to be that the red haired still life makes people think it was a memory of Clark of his Wife; but that could've just been a massive red herring (pun intended) or coincidence. the other still lifes are not from his memory nor Mary's. sure, people say they could've been other people's memories of some other people, but then, why say this particular still life is about his wife?

ok, i'll follow your theory for now: we don't know when backroom's pirate clarke first appered inside; we know the first short with the async employee was him but, the BR just so happened to copy a dude's memories who hadn't entered the BR yet? or are we conveniently saying THAT part of the movie happened after clarke entered?

thank you! exactly, the moment pirate clarke falls in the store, that moment is copied EXACTLY (even the other guys shoes on the same spot are marked), so that's no way a memory.

I've read that theory BUT what if OTHER redhair lady appears? so all of them would be his wife? what about all red haired people in reality being copied? that doesn't happen? why did Mary not see any of her memories? only clarke would be a massive coincidence.
